Mike Horn and Børge Ousland talks about their new expedition to the Arctic Ocean

In 2006, Børge and Mike set out on of their hardest expeditions, North Pole during winter time. The battle against the cold and darkness on the drifting ice. After more than two months, fighting open water, polar bears, minus 40 conditions and an infection that nearly killed Mike, they reached the Geographical North Pole 23rd of March. This expedition had long been regarded as impossible due to the constant darkness and the extreme cold of the winter months.
Now Mike and Børge are heading back north to cross the Arctic Ocean!

Followed it on Instagram. It was very nearly lethal towards the end with the ice floe, which I didn't appreciate negating their daily progress. Also, they are now over a decade older and still trapped on Lance in the ice. I didn't realise the North Pole is just Arctic Ocean ice with no land. Unlike the Continent of Antarctica.

So the North Pole has been reached and even crossed during the polar night. Now I guess the one thing left is to do the same in the south. No one has even reached the South Pole during winter the last attempt was unsuccessful.

LOL , that would be the magnetic north pole . No disrespect intended but the axis of the earth is the north and south pole. They remain constant. What an accomplishment to ski across the arctic.
