    Not pick and dip😮
Pick and dip you pickup brick and mortar at the same time. You don't place the joint on brick before laying it. You spread a little more mortar in length than it takes to lay the brick. Then when you spread for the next brick you have mortar extending past the brick installed. This lets you roll next bed joint and head joint on the brick that is laid. Then you don't need much if any dip when laying your brick. Your joints are always full. You can really call it a shove joint also. Brick spec's in the USA many times called for shove joints. Your never touch the bed to furrow it either. The mortar your roll out should give you a full joint protruding no more than 3/8".

When you pick & dip, you only turning away from your wall once. You pick a brick and just enough muck to lay that brick

@@bloodyvlady you got it mate 👌 I’ve not long been trying this method to be honest. Always been a long spreader. I do enjoy this way, less stress on the elbows and back with all the twisting etc.
But yeah, I agree with you. I put my perp on at the board while getting the bed while other lads use the bed for the perp 👍
