Great video! And wow so lucky to live that close to Jefferys Bay! I suppose some would say I was lucky to have lived next to Lower Trestles for 20 years as well. Nice board and nice riding!
Thanks for sharing, great job building your own wing foil board. I'm curious about that spot, I've seen it before as we go to the EC sometimes. Is the water deep enough for foiling all the time, or only at high tide or after rain etc? And how's the wind, is it clean or gusty? I guess it should be quite clean with an easterly wind.
Thanks for the feedback 😁 it's a great spot for watersports, for foiling you ideally want a mid to high tide. South-East wind is smooth, if it's very easterly the ridge by Amsterdamhoek can cause turbulence, but generally you can get long runs. South-West wind (as in the 2 clips in the video) is relatively smooth, but you want a higher tide to get long runs as the channels mostly run NE-SW. On a South-West it's quite epic to head out the river mouth and ride the swells, I might make a video of that 👍🏼
I see this was fitted 1 years ago! I want to fit a PVC twin hydrofoil box on my board , therefore my question is: did the box work and not break off? and are the plastic inserts strong enough for the hydrofoil attachment? P.S has anyone on youtube used these PVC plastic twin boxes successfully? without losing their hydrofoil?

Awesome bud. That's so cool. Amsterdam hook was looking so beautiful. Not only a good promotion of your product, but also of the area 😉
Good job Phil

Let us know how long the foil box lasts! It might not be too happy if you jump it
Lol will do - I don't have screw holes for straps so no jumping for now, more likely cause of unhappiness will be hitting a sandbank at speed 😄
👍🏻😁
Can you share the wood template size?
175cm x 71cm x approx 9cm thick 👍🏼 makes for 110 litres buoyancy
I didn't like the first part where you were sanding the board outside, polluting the environment...
Thanks Manolo, I was recently made aware of this issue and won't be repeating it 👍🏼
