We call this "Travel Roulette" because we just choose the cheapest non stop flight on the dates we want to travel. This time we ended up in Basel! We spent a long weekend traveling the region and have a few more videos coming. You could easily spend a lot more time in just Basel, we really enjoyed it!
Travel roulette for the win!! We love this concept of traveling - should probably do more of that as long as we are in Europe. Everything so close, and for you guys we reckon its so cheap/easy as Amsterdam is such a hub. Stay safe and look forward to see more of your videos :)
The name of the first restaurant was Schnabel ( „ bird‘s beak). It is very popular amongst locals. We pronounce it with a long „a“. Schnaaabel.❤ My carnival group is there every thursday. The lantern is in your video. SEIBI.😀💪
@@nateandkatrinadotheworld This one actually is a tri-national airport that serves Mulhouse in France, Basel in Switzerland and Freiburg in Germany. But it actually sits in France. When you arrive on an international flight (flights between Schengen countries are considered domestic flights) you have to choose whether you want to exit through the French/EU or the Swiss customs. If going to Germany select the French/EU one. The airport is connected to Switzerland via a road that crosses the 3kms (less than 2 miles) of French territory between the airport and the actual Swiss border and it only connects to the Swiss road network. Germany is about 10 kms away from the airport across the Rhine River.

Thanks guys! Google flights for the win! AMS is a pretty great hub for sure. Take care of that new puppy!
Love it. Now it's on my bucket list. 😮
Glad to hear that! Switzerland is one of Katrina’s most favorite places!
You had Basel all to yourselves... amazing. Quiet Quiet Quiet... no Riot.
It was so quiet… Amsterdam is not like that at all!!
❤
Great pizza eating Katrina - like a pro :) and great vlog all over
The race will have been "The 3 Countries Half Marathon". I'm running it in 2024 and I've just found this video the week before I go !
That’s awesome! Run great! 🏆
When you landed at Basel Airport, you were in France.
We found that out when we were leaving! A little bit confusing…
@@nateandkatrinadotheworld Before Schengen it was much clearer for obvious reasons. The Basel (SBB) station even had a French pre-clearance hall.
