Im calling it now. Seth is gonna 3d print some nike mags.
Hahahah I can see that happening
He's going to 3d print a RUclips channel
Why not
Yup lol 😂
I need to 3d print a new baby momma. i can’t stand her
To edit the first file and make it hollow/wearable what you have to do is slice the shoe in two pieces over the middle inside the CAD software. Then use some spheres/polygons to bool cut the superfluous material away.
Afterwards you join the 2 pieces together again using another boolean.
Great vid Seth, greeting from Costa Rica! You should try to thrift some size 9 Jordans, disassemble them, model individual pieces, customize as you wish you are great at that. Then use the “thrifted” soles of the dissembled shoes, so you don’t have to print those parts, and proceed to attach all the 3D modeled customized parts, for a 1 of 1 Seth Jordan 1. That would be a great series or crossover of your series in the Sethverse😂
it keeps getting crazier
12:42 if u wanna get to the finished model
This series is a breath of fresh air for us sneakerheads. Don't know any other sneaker youtuber who does this.
I feel like you should have 3d printed the pattern of the shoe and used flexible filament for the shoe pattern and make the thickness like the thickness of leather. then you can glue the pattern together or melt/weld them together. With a pattern you can make YOUR size and it would be easy to print since you can fit multiple shoe panels on the tray. I feel like this is a great idea that you should try out. I also feel like this would be a crazy good video idea!
I'm pretty sure I saw a video from Maker's Muse or CHEP or 3Dprinting Nerd where they tell you how to define different infill and supports for different parts of a print. Also I know Maker's Muse has a video on speeding up your prints.
Im sure someone has mentioned it, but you can set percentage of infill to certain areas using blocks in the slicer software
use modifiers so you can have different infill percentage at different spots in the model , Prusa slicer has this option , and I'd do sample parts of just a section of the sole to see what is the ideal infill so your models don't keep failing for this
Also with editing STL or OBJ files like that, you should try Blender! It's a free 3d modelling program that works in vertices and not so much cad
Man when you have an idea Seth Fowler has already done it! You’re the man bro!
Those look super breathable!!!
Seth, why dont you print the midsole out of harder material then print the rest of the shoe with the flexible material, so the shoe doesnt collapse when wearing it?
Yo seth, i know its not a sneaker so not as cool, but i feel like a croc would be kinda cool
Hey Seth. Wanted to share a couple of things about 3d software. Firstly I would highly recomend for you to switch to either blender or fusion 360. Blender is ideal for complecs organic shapes often found in shoes but can definatly be challenging to learn. Whereas fusion does have some features for organic modeling with the sculpting workspace but is definatly more restrivtive. Fusion is increadibly easy to learn on the surface level and has a free hoddy version that is mostly good enough for all hobby use.
The file you couldn`t edit is a mesh file which all stl files are. They can be converted into solid bodies in fusion 360 and probobly solid works as well with a variyng degree og success. When looking for files online i would suggest looking for other file formats if you wish to edit the body. Obj or simular works well. Lastly I would suggest for you to expriment with printing in other orientations. With many shoes you can avoid having support on the inside by printing them at a 45 degree angle toe to heel. Since the upper of the shoe will be at an angle as well. This would altso allow for a bigger shoe to fit into the same print area.
You should print the bottom with harder material and then pause the program and change material for that softer material that would be better and then paint it
You really need to look into tuning your printers for speed, getting a bigger nozzle size etc.
Also you have the ability to put modifiers on the object in the slicer so you can tell it to increase infill/print solid in the parts where it matters.
The support pattern should be zig zag so you just need to grab the end and pull, and everything else will follow
A little tip for the prusa mk3 buy the textured pad
I wonder what the electric power bill is on a 4 day 3d print?
I love you trying these insane prints out. You should see if you could try to print a fear of god California moc slide or try that pollex croc that came out. Keep up the awesome vids Seth.
ALMOST 1 MILL🥳
Using Prusa slicer with the advanced settings you can do variable infill. So you could have the bottom a higher infill, with the top being less.
I'd recommend stop using creality slicer.. you can use cura (what creality is based off) and use modifier blocks so you can change print parameters based on what intersects with it . I'd also reduce the support density so it doesn't print as much it'll make it easier and speed up the time.
also a misnomer about flexible filaments you can use retraction I'd suggest doing some tests
Maybe try some more single peice shoes like BV Puddle boots.
Another 3D print video ehhh
At this rate bro gonna have his own line of 3D printed shoes
How fun is this! Great vid ❤
I don't know how well Solidworks handles .STL files, but I think Blender will handle them better.
With booleans you could make a model of the physical space for your foot (easier than modeling the Jordan), 3d overlay them, and then do a boolean subtract from the other model. Boom, instant hollow shoe.
Idex dual extrusion with a soluble support might be better for inside the shoe/toe area.
@ 7:43…. Love it! It looks pretty good but I would paint it if it’s feasible to do so. But 3D model rendering turned out ok.
Hey Seth! You should 3d print some air maggs next! Can’t w8 for you to hit 1 mill!! Keep it up 😄
Seth instead of the 3d files you've used, there are people out there who sell acrylic cutouts like for a custom aj model they are individual different panels and hence you could use your iphone and get a 3d scan of the panels individualy and print them as such too with off later I think you should be able to fuse it into a full shoe?
Waiting on the 3D printed Air Mags…
Well... You can print some keychains.
Perhaps some apthcry keychains?
Great vid Seth!!! 🔥 printer and idea. No longer on the road to 1M, in the driveway ‼️
Let's figure out a place where the sneaker community can upload all 3D files they make so they are available for everyone! And you championing the begginings of it!
not happening. I make 3D visuals and to give up for free stuff which you could easily spend a week minimum working on? so that someone can flex on IG/YT with my work? why would someone ever do that?
You should 3d print a pair of air mahe
So close to a million
Can’t get any shoes from resellers
3-D printer: fine I’ll do it myself
More of a dunk high, no?
I think you should invest in a idex printer
@Seth Fowler Could you please drop a link to the 3d file of the Jordan one on the right at 2:38? Thank you in advance!
Put spray foam in the sole?
Print the midsole/outsole separate from the shoe
Can you not use the LiDAR on your iPhone to scan the shoe?
15-20% infill. with zig zag or concentric easily will be fine
where did you get the enclosures?
this is crazy
You should paint the 300 percent Jordan 1
okay hear me out
only do the uppers and put them on a outsole
Im the 1million subsciber. Congratulations
Where is the new 20 dollar collection video 🤔
is air midsole right?
He’s really been on this 3D stuff so 👍
😂😂😂 good video!
Represent with the Maryland flag. 👏🏾
Few years then you can print your own cloths
U littarly Chell it or make a new plain and make some holes in it
Colab with Hes and hydro dip em!
As Kevin Hart Says, “That Shit Was Ass”.
learn how to use tree supports bro
I love this series but please dude put more infill in the sole, idk look for another slicer or something but fix this and print actual wearable shoes
Try 4s
Not bad
Can we buyApthcry in India
Do crocs
How long do you think it’ll be till you hear from Nike and have to take down this video? These are awesome videos but no way these big brands don’t come for you bro.
Boolean?? Boolean?? Boolean?? Can you not Boolean in that program??
Print air Jordan 4
If you have an STL of your foot you can easily make it negative and merge it with any other STL in Tinkercraft. Very little skills necessary and far simpler than the software you are using and free and web based.
man never learns from his mistakes. want a harder shoe, just put more infill. yes, you have to wait more but at least you wait for not trash
So, would you be willing to make a couple like 200i% (ish) 1's that were paintable? My lady @kendrascustoms has been wanting a couple to paint up as gifts for people 🤔
Next do LeBron James shoes
bruh you need to fill the midsole you keep not doing thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.
That sucks big time 🤣
3d jordan4
Can i win the shoes
SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ruclips.net/video/su_m5zV9rvA/видео.html
This video shows how to have different infill density. Will help with base.
Don't give nike ideas 😭
early
First
First one here
I like these 3D printed shoe series. it may be worthwhile to fill the midsole in one of your upcoming projects. just to make them somewhat wearable like your first blue slide. the last few have just been structurally unsound 😅
fr bro just doesnt learn
@@maybeoptifyHe's a moron
I’m gonna reiterate an idea I posted on the last 3D printing video: What if you 3D printed each individual part that makes up the Jordan 1 and then assemble it like the actual shoe?
Code footwear does this!
Seems that for now, 3D printing for existing traditional sneaker designs has to be done in component parts. Otherwise, best to just create a design optimised for the 3D printing technique. Definitely impressed with the Asics effort shown earlier.
You can change the infill settings at different layer heights. Set the bottoms to a denser infill and then the tops to a lighter percentage. Also try adjusting the wall thickness in the same manner. That should fix your collapsing side walls and can soften the tops.
This 3D printed series is hilarious. Could you make a video where you cover your different printers and what you like vs dislike about them?
This video was so great. Thanks my guy.
man, what a process! thank you for sharing this with us
Kanye would wear that 😂
Those look legit, StockX approves
Seth - I gotta hear more about the HERON01s!
“Legends say he’s still trying too get the shoe off”
You should get a 3d scan of your foot and ankle to digitally test the fit first. Also you could then use the foot model to subtract the interior of the shoe. Eventually when you model your own shoe it will help then also.
In solidworks, you can use a tool called "recognize features" which should enable you to turn an STL file into a solidworks file. It doesn't work 100% of the time but it's worth a shot.
I love this series! Maybe a suggestion for an actually wearable 3d printed shoe is to just print the top part on the shoe and cement it onto a Jordan 1 sole that you can buy online. I think this would give the shoe an awesome contrast and would look very cool!
You can make extremely comfortable mid and insoles with 3D printing material. It just seems Seth is not very interested in making the shoes functional. There are companies out there selling high-end custom 3D printed soles and they can even be made home with the right know-how.
@@DKFX1 hmm didn't know it was possible to make those with a home 3d printer. Always thought that you needed an industrial one for a comfortable mid/insole. Pretty sad to see honestly that he doesn't do/know that since he is just waisting materials atm with these models
Maybe look for a low dunk,af1, or aj1 low. Then it would potentially be easier to get your foot in , you can fill sole, and will be faster
Gotta be 4s next 👀
