Congratulations Alex! A talented songwriter and musician such as yourself needed this! It's always nice to make music for other people (and that's what pays the bills) but it's so much more meaningful to share your musical voice with the world. I will definitely grab myself a copy!
Thank you! Always feel a bit weird putting out music, which seems odd, but it's the funny world of being a musician in a variety of ways. Thanks for the support! Much appreciated.
Found you through your fantastic synth videos, listened to this album while doing some chores, great stuff, love what you do and you seem like a cool dude
I really miss that A/B side thing. Many albums back in the day used this feature to tell a story. They had a musical cliffhanger at the end of side A so the listener turned the record over as fast as he could because he wanted to know what's next. But then it starts with a slow interlude on side B and only after that the suspense is released with a bang. After a small cool down everything steers towards the final climax. Sadly this art of album making is lost forever.
And they'd also sometimes sequence the track order differently to fit the format, compared to the CD. It's not entirely "lost", though - vinyl is pretty much the only physical music format that sells these days. If you go to a record shop, all they sell is stacks and stacks of new sealed 180g vinyl (and used ones, of course). The problem is that it's a guessing game if the master pressed on the record(s) is any good! AND you get all kinds manufacturing kinks. This is quite unfortunate, after paying $/£/€40 for a single album. Alex - great job. Still waiting for those future retrospective episodes on E-MU, Ensoniq, Akai or even the colossus, Yamaha 😉
Mr. Ball. I just bought the album and have to say that it really deserves a vinyl release. What do you think - can we have one? Please? Please can we have one?!? Go on. You know it makes sense!
@@AlexBallMusic you could ask Sam Battle. I got his xmas album last year. Not sure who distributed it. I remember getting something from Tiger Records they're a European outfit I think but not sure if it was LMNC. Or ask Benge. I just got his latest LP. Anyway, I hope you do find a distributor. ✌️
SPROING! That sounds distinctively as if your good friend Geert had a hand in it, does he have any contacts with that other dutch outfit called 'rotterdam termination source' that had the chart topper 'poing' by any chance?
The original concept was to record live into an analogue mixer and then take the stereo out into my DAW so that I couldn't change or remix anything. I also filmed the takes as I laid them down, thinking I could have a video version of the album too. I did about 20 tracks like that, but was only happy with some of them and so I cut it down to 5 that are on this album. I then broke my concept and did some multitrack recordings. Can you tell which are which?
Where do we get this album? And what formats are available? And how much does it cost? These seem like questions that shouldn’t need to be asked, don’t they? 😂

Will it be on Bandcamp soon?

I have schomething that goesch schproing.
Wow. Just wow.
Every time Geert appears it feels kind of meta…and I don’t know why.
I’m lischening
this is pretty cool, the ronson-gabe roth's duality really comes through in the mixing
We watch the same videos. 🫡
Lovely tunes!!! Would not hesitate to order a vinyl if it became available
I've got the vinyl masters done, I would really like to do it if it's feasible.
Sweet lord, the album art is fantastic!
This is the best first date album I've ever heard. Nice work.
Oh nice and sweet old school sound!
Sounds really good.
This is better than temporary secretary
Congrats 1000x. Analog banging ... yeaaah ❤❤❤
It's very analog. 😀

Listening now. Great stuff! 👍
Fantastic, loved specially the last one

OK That joint "Cursor" is fire. Some early Detroit Techno vibes.
Awesome! Sounds cool…bought immediately. Love the design too.

Yes, plus having a big sleeve with a pull out to dive into as the record played.

Ooh! OOH!

Also, that album cover is bloody great.
Cheers Xavier! Just put it up on Bandcamp. :)

Just listened to it! It's wonderful. When I'm not broke I will definitely buy it!

This sounds alot like My early experimental music from 2006, When I got a copy of Reason.
I was using Reason around then too. :)

100% Sproing. Sproings guaranteed. Sproingy. It even sproings. Sur-proingingly sproingy. This is definitely some sproingy stuff sir.
That's the required amount of Sproing.
On speaker right now. Heading for the sauna (with speakers)
For some reason, the phrase that comes to mind is “retro futurism.” Time to take out my credit card!
I accept both retro and future payment methods. :)
@@AlexBallMusic u accept cash from inside a moog 55?
It certainly is full of sproings…
Going to stream this tonight!
Thanks!
Fantastic, congratulations Alex! Any sites in particular where I can patronise your performances?

what a great album title.
A friend said "your music is so sproingy". It fit.
Any interesting facts about this album that I could share about this on a 2nd or 3rd date?

Slight hiccup. Will be up there later. 😀
67% SPROING, 17% SHNOTZ, 13% YUPYUP, 3% WUIIIIH = 100% LIKE. Next album with some PBRTS, please (like Spike Jones).

Oh hello!
Great Alex...BUT where are your vocals? You got some awesome refrains in your videos
I just wanted to sproing on this one. So I sproinged.
And some mighty fine sproinging you did too

Nice! We would love to feature you on our music blog!
I get an impression that you might be fond of the music of Eat Static. If not, you should take a listen of something like Science of the Gods.
iTunes or Bandcamp; where do I buy the album to net you the most Prophet?
Bandcamp - thank you!
Cool. Purchase complete. Sounds great so far!
So, what did you rename "Bananas" to?
Because it's on here... right?
😬
Physical media available?
Not for the time being. I've got the vinyl masters done with a view to doing that in the new year somehow. Looking into solutions.
Some guys press short runs. Autograph the discs and ask $100 markup on each. Seriously.
@@AlexBallMusic I would absolutely love to have your music on vinyl!
@@AlexBallMusic Bandcamp (used to?) offer a vinyl service. Might be worth a look as you're already using them.
Not my style of musiks, but the production is excellent

I'll buy that for a dollar (Robocop made me do it)
Deal.
