they fought well and bravely for their country. let's hope that they were soon on their way home. it's been more than 75 years now. RIP to all the brave fighters on whatever side in that long gone war.

@@berndb.9890 well thanku for clarifying that for me. The Germans fought and died for the Nazi cause not for Germany, they had to swear allegiance to Hitler.

How random life is.
It's too easy to lay blame, but these Germans are as much victims as their opponents. Just imagine the personal tragedy they all faced. There were no winners.
