Lia I have been driving for over 30 years and I still do not like round abouts, parking garages, driving where I have never been before and especially do not like driving at night. You did all those things on your first trip!!! im very proud of you.
Driving completely opposite than we do here in the U.S. seems so odd ☺ What a beautiful place with the ocean and cliff Good job driving ☺Glad you two are safe
Not a mini heart attack but definitely a surprise. So long as one stays in her lane and the other driver stays in his lane, it's safe as houses as the British say (or used to say).
Well Done Lia! I was nervous for you too! Christie is such a great friend with lots of encouragement! I'm not a fan of parking in crowded car parks, it's all about the angle and when you don't do it for a while it's tough but each time you drive it's more and more experience! Xxx
First! I’m in awe of this episode! Everything about this is innovative. The future of entertainment is here now. It’s our dear friends we’ve never actually met in person a world away in a Nancy Meyers home movie. The rubber ducky shop brings to mind 1980’s Last Wound-Up toy shop in the Upper West Side of NYC. All wind-up toys. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Dana says- Geesh, I'm such a mom. My stomach was tied in knots the whole time you were driving. You did so well, Lia! Christie is a great driving coach.
What a beautiful view of the Seven Sisters! I never heard of them before. Great job driving, Lia! And Christy was an exceptional instructor, very calm and patient!
Lia I like the fact that you are doing something that you haven't done in a while, are you considering getting a car it would certainly make it easier to get together with Joel, you did a good job getting to Brighton for lunch.I have never heard of the seven sister's is it a tourist spot? You did really well for not having driven in so long.I hope you go on more driving adventures soon.
Well done. Most of driving is about becoming familiar with the car, familiar with the routes you drive (which almost have to be learned as a completely new route at night since they look different). I noticed a significant improvement in both the quality of my driving and my driving comfort after one year of daily driving, when a lot of car operation had become muscle memory.
You did great Lia. I’m like you, I don’t let other drivers pressure me into driving faster than I feel is safe and I have years of experience driving. I’ve never had an accident. Well done you!
Those were some beautiful photos of the English Channel. It was cool to see Christy and I'm glad you had a friend to help you gain confidence driving instead of a stranger. Sorry to see you got a headache and I hope it passed quickly. I'm sure you'll be a fine driver when you decide to get a car of your own.
Lia you're so brave! I I'd probably wouldn't have dared to drive around like that with absolutely no practice. Respect! And Christie is the best instructor one could wish for.
This video was so funny. You literally just eased my car anxiety, I got a car a few days ago and have been avoiding going in it but now after watching this I know I can do it to 😊
Been driving 30+ years. My dad let us drive in West Virginia as soon as we could reach the breaks and see over the wheel. Started driving around Ohio on main streets when I was about 13 & didn't get my license till I was almost 20 (didn't need them 😉) lol One thing that has always helped me was my mom's advice (she passed in 96 and I can still hear her voice saying this) "you know what you're doing - it's the other assholes you have to watch out for" Still holds true today 😊 hope she helps you too. Sweet dreams
For not driving before(in practice anyway lol) you’re doing really well right now!!! Good for you for doing it, being uncomfortable and growing as well as changing as a person!!!
I LOVED this video! Two friends just enjoying each other’s company, seeing the sites in England, and watching Lia drive! Well done! That was a LONG drive after not driving for years!
Good for you to drive that much in a day after never really driven - You did incredibly well. Lovely how patient Christie was. My daughter is just learning to drive, too bad she can't come work with her too (instead of me) - LOL!!!
You drove really well Lia. Everything is a learning experience. Also how nice the gas stations provide gloves to protect you from that awful gas smell. In an unrelated note we have 4 sister's here but they are dormant volcanos.
Good job Lia! I think you are doing the right thing now that you don’t live in London. A car will give you more freedom. Always remember to drive slow, look thrice, and keep distance to the other cars, and you’ll be okay.
Wow, I was quite nervous for you watching you drive. You had a great instructor. I enjoyed seeing the Seven Sisters and somewhere new. They were so pretty.
I caught on pretty well when I was in London. Instead of an immediate Right, it's an immediate Left coming to a Cross Street. In London it's very much like any big city, pick your spot quickly and be Nimble. On the M80 going towards the West country the traffic actually sped up to 110 MPH. In the countryside the roads were very narrow with hedges and stone walls on each side, and people were just Zipping along without a care.
Great job! If you aren't used to driving it can be very stressful. If you and Joel decide to go to Boston, make sure to not drive in Boston because the traffic is HORRIBLE. Take the T everywhere. If you want to travel outside of it get a hotel or airb&b do it out of the city and park somewhere to get to the T and then you can visit other areas in New England because you can see so much in just a few hour drives.
Nice job Lia! How wonderful to have such a great friend to be there by your side! Brought back memories of my first time driving in England. Arizona here!
Well done, Lia. Being an American, it seems round-abouts driving on the “wrong side of the street” would be odd. The coastal towns in Britain are beautiful ... as are you.
I haven't been so nervous since I taught my daughter to drive! FYI, you did very well. Christy did a great job as your driving instructor. I've been driving since I was 13 years old and I still get nervous about driving if I haven't driven for a while. I'm glad you went to the seven sisters area. It was stunning! Thanks for sharing.
Great job Lia !! Christie you did an Amazing job teaching her a refresher course. It looks a bit scary with those roundabouts and it feels funny driving on the other side of the road with you. You Both Rocked It !! 🐝😊💕🌻🎄
Little hint about driving....no matter how big or small the vehicle, BE ONE WITH IT. Think of it as an extension of yourself. Just aim it in the direction you are looking. Actually, it does go where you're looking, to your detriment at times, so try not to look around too much, because your hands will steer towards where you're looking sometimes. I ran off the road into the median while driving on an Interstate at 65 mph. Fortunately I caught it in time and was able to use my Driver's Ed knowledge to gradually ease the vehicle back up to the road without getting whipped across the road like you would if you whipped it back on the road.
Last summer I drove my first ever long distance trip (Vernon, BC to Nanaimo, BC) and it included having to drive onto the top parking deck of the Ferry boat which was absolutely terrifying for me but I did it and I am proud of myself. I totally understand your nerves but you looked quite comfortable behind the wheel during a lot of the footage you showed. Good job Leah. 👍👏🥳
What a fun day! You did great! I do not like roundabouts. Luckily they are not common in the States. Once you get comfortable driving around maybe you can consider getting a car. As always, take care and Happy Travels! P.S. Happy Thanksgiving! ♥️🛫🗺
hey Lia, if it makes you feel better, when my mom first tried to teach me how to drive, i almost hit a parked car. so, don't feel bad about ending up on the wrong side of the road momentarily.
you're more than welcome. when i first started driving, i was super nervous too. i totally understand how you feel, you are most certainly not alone. i've watched you, now, for quite a while, both here and on your joint channel with Joel, and i know you are super intelligent and extremely gifted. i know you can overcome the fear and nervousness of driving. it will get easier the more you do it, trust me. on a similar note, i'm working on making eye contact with people and, as a special needs person, it's Definitely not my strong suit but, by God's grace and a Lot of practice, it does get easier and easier each time. when i first started, i constantly felt the urge, subconsciously, to squint and pull away from making eye contact but now, it's a lot easier. so, i know you will get better and better at driving. just give it time and be patient with yourself and you will get there. i know you can do it Lia :-)
Best way to learn to drive go out in the country there's less traffic, buy or borrow a beater car so if you have a fender bender it's not a big deal. When you get your license buy a beater and drive it for a year till you get the hang of driving in different conditions after that then buy your Mercedes.
You did well. I have drove a year and a half I passed in a manual. Drove a manual for a year didin't like it and went automatic mokka x. Don't think I will go manual again. Its always nicer with a friend. I live in Birmingham we have some horrible junctions.
Oh Lia, I need to borrow your friend. I need to rent a car in London and go out to the countryside. I have never driven in the UK. I will be doing it next week. Might be a good vlog idea....lol
I used to work for Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Detroit. Usually your type of rental goes on a 24 her billing (i.e., you pick it up at 9am and return it at 9am the following day equals 1 day). BTW, did you go with the damage waiver?
Good job driving. It seems weird that you can live in a city where you don't have to drive, but I've never lived in a large city and have been driving since I was 16. I've never been in a taxi or an Uber or Lift. I have ridden the subway in New York and would probably do the same in London. Have a good week.
Whew Lia I've always been a nervous driver and I was very nervous for you! I'm glad you were talking the whole way and no lapses in conversation-that would have been worse! I didn't know you didn't drive! I thought I'd seen you driving before ! Proud of you, girl! Makes you more independent! 😅😎
I thought I had gone to Dover when I went to Brighton the one and only time in my life in 2010 but I think I actually did go to Worthing and the Seven Sisters cliffs! It looks so familiar... hopefully I can go back and drive though in Canada everything is the opposite so definitely need some practice lol
Great work Lia!!👏👏👏It's so funny to think that you hardly 🚗 drive, driving is an every day event for me, Reminded me of when I first started driving but now it's second nature. So proud of you!!😀
I've driven practically my whole life.... growing up on a farm with tractors and farm trucks, and I'm still a nervous wreck when I drive.... oops, poor choice of words! 😄🇺🇸💕🐿💕
I think both girls have gorgeous eyes Luther from a comment below. lol I was freaking thinking you were going down the wrong side of the road. Whew...what a head rush. lol I drive with one foot for gas and one for the brake. Anyone else? lol
Well done! How did you walk back to the car in the dark after sunset? That would have been the worst part for me. Let us know when you've purchased a car. I can see it coming. Christie will need to teach you to parallel park so you can visit Joel with your new car.
It freaked me out when you went past the traffic that was going the other way. I live in the United States so it would take some getting used to to drive in England.
Lia I have been driving for over 30 years and I still do not like round abouts, parking garages, driving where I have never been before and especially do not like driving at night. You did all those things on your first trip!!! im very proud of you.
Thanks so much Debby! X
In America, you really need a car as our train system sucks and Greyhound sucks. There’s not a subway system in most towns. Having a car is a must
Any other Americans have a mini heart attack when she turned left and you could see a car coming from the left @3:30?
😂😂😂
Bethany Gayle Yes! (And I am British American! Been in the US 21 years)
Driving completely opposite than we do here in the U.S. seems so odd ☺ What a beautiful place with the ocean and cliff Good job driving ☺Glad you two are safe
Sorry for the mini heart attack hun x
Lia Hatzakis LOL! On no worries! I survived it! Haha but you did great! Love the video! ❤️
Not a mini heart attack but definitely a surprise. So long as one stays in her lane and the other driver stays in his lane, it's safe as houses as the British say (or used to say).
Christie is the best! So encouraging and full of positive reinforcement.
I wish Christie could come teach my kids to drive. She seems like she's a patient teacher.
Well done, Lia! You drive like a pro!
I agree with you at 12:07, it is lovely!!
Hi, thanks for the tour. I'm a driving instructor in Seattle, I'd like to say good job Kristi for keeping a calm demeanor. =)
Well Done Lia! I was nervous for you too! Christie is such a great friend with lots of encouragement! I'm not a fan of parking in crowded car parks, it's all about the angle and when you don't do it for a while it's tough but each time you drive it's more and more experience! Xxx

Nice job John Newman!🍾🎉🥇
Dana says- Geesh, I'm such a mom. My stomach was tied in knots the whole time you were driving. You did so well, Lia! Christie is a great driving coach.
What a beautiful view of the Seven Sisters! I never heard of them before. Great job driving, Lia! And Christy was an exceptional instructor, very calm and patient!
Christy has the prettiest eyes. What do you all think
And that Smile
I was thinking that as well! And love the dimples!
and that ass :-))))))
Yep.
The color is so pretty that I was questioning whether they are colored contacts. LOL

Thanks Gina! Glad you enjoyed
Lia, you did great, and your friend, instructor and support team I'm sure made it a calm experience. Congratulations, and Thank you for sharing.

That looked like a lovely trip and Christy is amazing because I know how hard it is to teach someone to drive
Yeh she did a good job xx
Been driving 30+ years. My dad let us drive in West Virginia as soon as we could reach the breaks and see over the wheel. Started driving around Ohio on main streets when I was about 13 & didn't get my license till I was almost 20 (didn't need them 😉) lol

Excellent job Lia for your first time. You need to do that more often. You also had a very good instructor which really makes a difference.
For not driving before(in practice anyway lol) you’re doing really well right now!!! Good for you for doing it, being uncomfortable and growing as well as changing as a person!!!
You did AMAZING sweet girl, so proud of you!❤️🌷
Love to see you having girl time with friends; it brings me such joy to see you smile.😊
I LOVED this video! Two friends just enjoying each other’s company, seeing the sites in England, and watching Lia drive! Well done! That was a LONG drive after not driving for years!
Well done, Lia. You did a fantastic job. It's always better if your instructor is calm. Loved the scenery, as always. ❤❤❤🚗🚗🚗🚘🚘🚘
She was very calm yes! I’m lucky x
Stay outta trouble you two funny girls...and PLEASE be careful, Lia💕💖 😉😁!! This ought to be a treat with Christy along - looking forward to this!
Good for you to drive that much in a day after never really driven - You did incredibly well. Lovely how patient Christie was. My daughter is just learning to drive, too bad she can't come work with her too (instead of me) - LOL!!!

More videos with Christie! She's absolutely delightful!
Wow, I was quite nervous for you watching you drive. You had a great instructor. I enjoyed seeing the Seven Sisters and somewhere new. They were so pretty.
I came right from watching you drive a boat for the first time to driving this car. You did sooo good! Another really fun video of the 2 of you 😊
Awesome! Thank you Barb!

Good job Lia! Always important to challenge yourself! Great that you have a friend like Christie!
Thanks Nancy
You rented a Mercedes!!!! Brave girl☆☆☆ great job.. and I use the gloves!
@Nicky L it did look small. Nice car and Christy was so helpful and positive☆
Well done, Lia. Being an American, it seems round-abouts driving on the “wrong side of the street” would be odd. The coastal towns in Britain are beautiful ... as are you.
Aww I bet that looks odd to you!
Nice job Lia!❤️
Well done! Your friend is an excellent driving teacher.
She says thanks!
Lia,which model of Mercedes do you like the most, and what color would you buy ??
Great job, Lia!!

Well done Lia! I hate the roundabouts. . Joel will so proud of you. Keep up the good work! 🌺
Aww thanks 🙏🏼
Is dificult to drive on the left?
I loved every minute of this video! You are so hilarious and always make me laugh. Well done on the driving! 👍 Much love from Jean ❤
Great job Lia !! Christie you did an Amazing job teaching her a refresher course. It looks a bit scary with those roundabouts and it feels funny driving on the other side of the road with you.
You Both Rocked It !!
🐝😊💕🌻🎄
Thanks so much xx
Good job! I have to admit I was worried for you. Your wing woman was excellent, thanks Kristie! Peace & Love Lia!❤🤗🥀
What do those squiggly lines in the road mean?
Lisa Maher that’s what I want to know too
Just looked it up. The lines are near pedestrian crossing.
Lisa Maher thanks for that info🙂
They're either side of crossings which mean you can't park there
No over taking on the crossing

Lia goes to Brighton in this Vlog !!!! The time here now is 11:40 12/22/19
That's an American date format. It should read dd/mm/yyyy. 22/12/2019 or /yy - /19
Aaaww Lia♥️ thank you and Christie for a lovely drive to the British beach side‼️‼️ wow🤩
You did great Lia! So proud of you, next stop...the car dealership!!! 😉😘
Christy is a great friend. You are very lucky dear. Please do not crash! I can’t watch.
Always put safety first
So fun! I love road trips. It sounds like you got a lot of different experiences, which is so good :) ❤
Great job Lia. You did so good driving. It will get even easier.
Hope so 💛
Christy is so sweet. Love when she joins you and Joel. ❤️💙
Loved the video! Beautiful views! Hope to see more soon😊
I did a walking tour of Brighton in the summer 🙂
Good job Lia! I was nervous watching. Ha!
I was nervous driving! X
YES GLOVES!
This was such a cute show! You did a lovely job driving Lia, and Christy was a nice calm teacher. Tyfs.💕
Thanks!
you're more than welcome. when i first started driving, i was super nervous too. i totally understand how you feel, you are most certainly not alone. i've watched you, now, for quite a while, both here and on your joint channel with Joel, and i know you are super intelligent and extremely gifted. i know you can overcome the fear and nervousness of driving. it will get easier the more you do it, trust me. on a similar note, i'm working on making eye contact with people and, as a special needs person, it's Definitely not my strong suit but, by God's grace and a Lot of practice, it does get easier and easier each time. when i first started, i constantly felt the urge, subconsciously, to squint and pull away from making eye contact but now, it's a lot easier. so, i know you will get better and better at driving. just give it time and be patient with yourself and you will get there. i know you can do it Lia :-)
Well done! I remember my first time without a driving instructor 😅 Practice makes perfect!!!
Thanks! Can’t wait to be more confident with it
The water and cliffs were beautiful... plus, you were so brave Lia! That was stressful... migraine!
Thanks Peggy xx
0:51 This bit was hilarious, you two! 😂😂😂
Best way to learn to drive go out in the country there's less traffic, buy or borrow a beater car so if you have a fender bender it's not a big deal. When you get your license buy a beater and drive it for a year till you get the hang of driving in different conditions after that then buy your Mercedes.
Great driving! Too me, it looks so strange driving on the left side of the road. 😜
Haha I bet!
Fun video with more gorgeous places I've never seen! You've got a great encourage-er helping you drive. ☺️ Keep it up!
Good job! I felt that headache coming on all day and knew from the stress you would have one.
You did well. I have drove a year and a half I passed in a manual. Drove a manual for a year didin't like it and went automatic mokka x. Don't think I will go manual again. Its always nicer with a friend. I live in Birmingham we have some horrible junctions.
The view of the water from those cliffs was insane
Yay!!! You did a great job!!! Driving can be so stressful!!
Thanks Janine xx
Oh Lia, I need to borrow your friend. I need to rent a car in London and go out to the countryside. I have never driven in the UK. I will be doing it next week. Might be a good vlog idea....lol
I used to work for Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Detroit. Usually your type of rental goes on a 24 her billing (i.e., you pick it up at 9am and return it at 9am the following day equals 1 day). BTW, did you go with the damage waiver?
when Lia jumped when the other car turned over its engine, I laughed my ass off.
Lots of underground parking makes me nervous too.😌
Well done, Lia. For not having driven for years it seems like you did really well.
Thanks so much x
Great job!!! Driving can be overwhelming sometime, I can’t imagine not driving for that many years and then just making a trip 😂
Good job driving. It seems weird that you can live in a city where you don't have to drive, but I've never lived in a large city and have been driving since I was 16. I've never been in a taxi or an Uber or Lift. I have ridden the subway in New York and would probably do the same in London. Have a good week.
Yeah I’ve just never needed a car
Loved it... so funny! I'm driving to London tomorrow so may take the scenic route 🚙
I didn't know there was Brighton in the UK!!🤗 I Was there today. Good stuff!
I smiled throughout this entire video! 🖤
So proud of you!!😀
Aww thanks xx
I've driven practically my whole life.... growing up on a farm with tractors and farm trucks, and I'm still a nervous wreck when I drive.... oops, poor choice of words! 😄🇺🇸💕🐿💕
I think both girls have gorgeous eyes Luther from a comment below. lol I was freaking thinking you were going down the wrong side of the road. Whew...what a head rush. lol I drive with one foot for gas and one for the brake. Anyone else? lol

Lia!!! Looks like you had an amazing day with the lovely Christie!!! ❤ Good on you for driving when you haven't driven for a while!!! 👍
Thanks Sean!! I’m proud of my progress x
@@liahatz Awesome Lia!!! 👍👸
Nicely done Lia! But what are those wavy lines on the side of English roads? Must be to help drunk drivers navigate between lanes i suppose.
I’m not sure which wavy lines you mean
@@liahatz Can see them at the 8:20 mark. They're not always painted on the roads but they are in London a lot. What do they mean?
I really hope enterprise watch this 😂😂
Love your comeos in Lia's videos Christie!!! ❤ You are great teacher and friend!!! ❤
It freaked me out when you went past the traffic that was going the other way. I live in the United States so it would take some getting used to to drive in England.
