This is so awesome to compare to the videos you put out now. The shakey camera, the set up on some hard floor... all of this is hilarious to watch and compare to your videos now
as an offensive minded FoGo I use a low pocket with High shooters so I can carry well for my style of dodging. The "V" certainly helps the ball stick in the back a bit when pulling it out but it can become a serious issue as your head warps and becomes more pinched.
call me crazy but the head that works extremely well is the latest brine answer. its wicked flexible and has the right amount of pinch in the throat. you have to make sure u get the latest model because the older ones come too pinched when u buy them.
I personally use Marc Mesh because it's durable, breaks in quickly and is water resistant. Highly recommend you try it bud. Soft mesh is a pain because it stretches forever.
i use an original blade. there are some scattered around on the lacrosse forums. the blade 2.0 also works and I've heard very good things about the stx proton power.
From my experience lifting your left hand gives leverage. If it was me id use it against u all day. Also plunges are easy to beat if you know they r gonna do it. Great video. I just feel u made plunging seem unstoppable when facing is like rock paper scissors. Each move has a weakness
Best place to find an OG is searching for it on Ebay man. Thanks for asking about the Knee. By seasons end I was about 80% but coming into the season I'll finally be at 100% again.
What i've noticed is fogos just going for the clamp.. if you lose the clamp what i like to do is LEGALLY punish the man im going against so he drops his stick down and its an easy gb for you or another wing midfielder on your team
Yes I was promised it was exactly like the old blade.....and it's not. But when I get my hands on one during training camp I can give you a more accurate account of what it can and can not do.
dudeeee the blade pro is coming out, maybe you shud do a comparison with the OG blade and the blade pro? :) since your prob the best guy i know that dominates faceoffs with a blade, just a suggestion
Alrite so I am in my second year of lacrosse, and im winning a lot of faceoffs. However, my hard mesh is too hard and i can never gat my own faceoffs!! Should i just get soft mesh?
I love it when high school kids give out tips to one of the best FO guys in the game today. I'm pretty sure he has more FO knowledge in his pinky finger than you have. Really, get some perspective and think before embarrassing yourself.
beast is arguably the best man on the X. If pete is taking all the faceoffs he is a deadly d-middie, toss a long pole in his hands and watch out polonco
In summer camp I was facing off against a FOGO from Notre Dame and he pinched, popped, and flipped the ball straight to Jovan Miller who was playing attack. It made me want 2 poop my pants
first u need to do speed faceoff drills on ur own FE: by using a FO timer and clamping down as soon as you hear the whistle, u can do chops in front and behind the ball, and u MUST have good positioning of ur body before ref blows the whistle
if u tried a jump on him he would already be down the field so dont act like just because everyone says that a jump counters a plunger its not gonna work everytime his plunger is so fast you wouldnt be able to jump him now im not saying they suck or anything but its not like rock paper scissors cause someone could have such a fast plunger that the other person would hav a tough time countering it but yes every move is counterable
This guy probably has at least twice as many years and more experience as you. I am sure he knows how a plunger can be beat and doesn't need you to tell him. What he was talking about in this video is getting one move and becoming awesome at it. Of course he isn't going to win 100% but I am sure guys like you have tried to counter yet he still beats them most of the time. The video also talks about having a second move if your primary isn't working, so he knows he needs a back up move.
wow look how much lacrosse has changed in just 8 years
Thanks for signing my sons hat after the game in Hamilton today! You made his day!
this was such a long time ago but i still learn from the BEAST
Congrats on ur FOGO of the year award for MLL

Finally someone who agrees with me to get really good at one move and have a backup that you're okay at.
Greg, definitely a master of the x
@SUOrangeLAX SU good news is I just found out this past weekend in Miami that the original ballade is returning this spring.
I just started facing off and I have to say this video helped a lot

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

i want to see a video of your brother doing that over the shoulder move now
Glad to hear man.
Thanks really helped
A low, soft pocket that lets the ball sit into the head when picking up groundballs.
Good question I'll find out if he has game film.
YES! you need to make a weapon of choice and how you string youre stick!
Worked on my hand technique and watched a lot of film on myself and others.
HAPPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

the moves were good and you are absolutely RIPPED!
also the edge is amazing
MY FIST haha but really that's why I think moto grip is the best. Even if you lose the whistle you can still wiggle it out most of the time.
@Bdett28 just get soft mesh, or buy jimalax semi hard and break it in. American mesh from jimalax is also good.
the brine cyber pro is a great face-off head
dudeeee the blade pro is coming out, maybe you shud do a comparison with the OG blade and the blade pro? :) since your prob the best guy i know that dominates faceoffs with a blade, just a suggestion
Have you heard of the new blade pro. Is it really like the og blade
My dad has the same shorts as greg! :)
I use the 6k for face offs too.
@gotja It's a dyed OG Blade bud.
Im liking those Lizards gloves...
Tutorial on de palming lacrosse gloves?
Greg your the man!
when really digging into each other on a face off should i use my head or shoulders?
I went to your one day lacrosse camp in Arizona
nice gloves, did you cut the palms out or did you buy them that way?
OG Blade
Alrite so I am in my second year of lacrosse, and im winning a lot of faceoffs. However, my hard mesh is too hard and i can never gat my own faceoffs!! Should i just get soft mesh?
what head would u suggest for fogo other than the og blade?
is the viper 2 good for face offs, even if i pinch it?
what type of pocket do you suggest for fos
Thanks bud.
hey man i just broke my last fogo head , i was woundering what head you use , if you dont mind telling
How many Blades do you have beast? im down to a single blade and it has a cracked sidewall hole and im buggin
When I take faceoffs alot of the varsity guys that are juniors and seniors are stronger than me. Can you recommend any moves for a weaker guy?
Any ideas where i can buy an OG Blade? Also, hows your knee? I saw you play in the championship and you played well...
@GregGurenlian Could you pls message me how it is when u get it thnx
Marcus Fenix plays lacrosse?
Yes.
I love it when high school kids give out tips to one of the best FO guys in the game today. I'm pretty sure he has more FO knowledge in his pinky finger than you have. Really, get some perspective and think before embarrassing yourself.
In the league we can cut out our palms.
Greg I liked what you said at the Usa game a few weeks back "I Can't get a fucking clamp"
There's plenty you can do. We teach all kinds of techniques at The Face-Off Academy.
What grip do you use when you go up against Chris Eck?
helpfull, thanks!
Is there anything you can do when the ball is in the opposing players stick?
@laxswagfaceoff I'm glad bud hope it proves useful.
what kind of gloves are they?
do you reccomend the m80?
where can you find your blades?
do u use soft mesh? please answer
ill buy that og blade i need one
beast is arguably the best man on the X. If pete is taking all the faceoffs he is a deadly d-middie, toss a long pole in his hands and watch out polonco
what do you think about the ncaa trying to take moto out of the game? you said it yourself that one move isn't stronger then the other
yes I can.
WHat happened to the stringing tutorial!
@GregGurenlian I mean your brother
so Greg what do you do when the other guy has a palm down grip?
I didn't know Marcus fenix played lacrosse
In summer camp I was facing off against a FOGO from Notre Dame and he pinched, popped, and flipped the ball straight to Jovan Miller who was playing attack. It made me want 2 poop my pants
Can u do a vid on how to have a faster clamp
first u need to do speed faceoff drills on ur own FE: by using a FO timer and clamping down as soon as you hear the whistle, u can do chops in front and behind the ball, and u MUST have good positioning of ur body before ref blows the whistle
"MY FIST"
he's ripped
Greg how did you learn to face off?
i have the same gloves
who are the fellow fogos with you?
nice chirp bud!
Sup I was at your camp
is that 6k broken?
Put a video of him clamping and throwing it around to his attack man in the box
yes
I have 8 that I've bought for over $200 a pop.
what head is that?
NIKE ID Trainer 2 man.
if u tried a jump on him he would already be down the field so dont act like just because everyone says that a jump counters a plunger its not gonna work everytime his plunger is so fast you wouldnt be able to jump him now im not saying they suck or anything but its not like rock paper scissors cause someone could have such a fast plunger that the other person would hav a tough time countering it but yes every move is counterable
RIP THE DUCK!!!
