Paul1239193 I love parliament and I know my funk, but Stevie snuck in and stole the p funk from right under their noses. And I bet George Clinton doesn't even care. He's happy that he lunched the mothership connection and spread funk thru the galaxy.
I feel you on that one. That album was before mt time too but when I heard it for the first time recently, it sounded way ahead of its time which truly shows the amount of talent and depth that my man Stevie has.
stevie people aint looking at this song Prince loved you and james brown and jackie wilson and duke and MICHAEL Grew up with you all. loved him as as an artist. Jimmy Hendrix is up there too. You really need to get your generations straight. Old school funk (Sly, Stevie, Parliament, etc.) is right in Gen X's wheelhouse. This is what we born from 1964-74 grew up listening to.
No telling how many youngsters were blown away the first time they heard this on that Stevie Wonder LP. Inspired many to become musicians, I am sure.
Talking Book was a kickass album-but 1972 was way before my time. I just heard Maybe Your Baby for the first time ever and am floored by the funk.
Seriously, there are seldom things as moving as a Stevie concert. He is truly a great American and a great man of God.
Maybe Your Baby is the funkiest song in the history of history.

That's the kind of music that make your nosehairs stand up. These new groups can't do it like that.
