  • I like these tunes together so much, that I ended up just playing both of them in this video! The first tune is "La Traversée de l'Atlantique", which I played on the mandotenor yesterday, and the second tune in G minor is "Le Set Carré à Pitou Boudreault". That second tune is just a BLAST on the fiddle in G minor, though I used to think the higher part used B flats for the key, but according to Pascal Gemme, they're B naturals. Really changes the sound of the tune! Anyways, it's actually a version of the Irish tune, "Eileen Curran", but Boudreault REALLY heavily changed it. He chopped up the melody and made it super crooked. I love his version, so it's really its own tune at this point.
