Recently I understood why Jesus spoke in parables and why he said they weren't for everyone. It was the woman at the well story that woke me. Being married several times to different personalities of men until my present marriage of 23 years. My husband will tell you; "she's only been married once, to the right man." Because I experienced the life of the woman at the well, I understood her sin wasn't sexual or greed or her living in sin because she wasn't married to a man she lived with, no, it was holding onto her past traumas and bringing them into her present. This lecture I listened to twice... many other sayings of Jesus "clicked" and I understand now. Even throwing pearls to swine. Silly example, nothing to do with our wealth but everything to do with keeping our experiences of spiritual awaking to those those that are awaking too, not the over educated idiots or the materialistic types that seek our money.
