I think adding an attachment for removing an attachment is still a pretty good game mechanic because it is a modification to the base model weapon. Its like saying “you get the choice between this sauce or that sauce or you can get no sauce its up to you” not wanting the sauce is still a decision that must be quantified
But it shouldn't cost you. Generally, you run iron sights because you want to run a different attachment instead. You might as well use a red dot cause it costs the same

There is actually a way to get it for free right now unless it got patched. Go to the special tab and go to the siren, then switch to the blueprint tab on the siren and click square or whatever your button is to equip and go to gunsmith and you equip it.
