Embarrassing to place such a low bid for a house as lovely and dreamy as this one. There simply is no price for that spectacular view, several bedrooms, big kitchen, ready to move in house. These ladies were bold enough to exclaim that they wouldn't purchase the garage! But who else is gonna use the garage that is on THEIR property in the middle of nowhere in Italy countryside? I'm flabbergasted, the rudeness! And then they had the audacity to claim they wanted the prime, old olive trees to feast on the oil! This house was a beauty and probably loved by generations of italian families. Then snobs from rich western country come and be snobby and don't even give it a decent bid. What did I just watch? Greetings, from Sweden.

My mother's family is from Abruzzo. We sold my grandfather's house to a rich English couple, they rarely come to Italy but their son, who is not even 20, lives in the house. He is quickly learning Italian and the local dialect, he made friends with the boys and girls of the small village and is often at dinner at my aunt's house because he can't cook. Apparently he loves his life in Abruzzo and refuses to return to the UK, it's a strange situation but he is a very nice guy. My family members say that by selling the house they also "gained" a new nephew and another boy to worry about, ah, ah!

He's a grown ass man--he should grow up, be responsible and accountable and support himself. Otherwise, he remains a lazy, mooching LEECH. Just wait and see--eventually they'll get tired of feeding and supporting him. I just hope he doesn't impregnate one of their daughters--then they're stuck with him forever.

Some houses can be old but they are cheap and you can renovate them. About Abruzzo I can certainly say that it is a beautiful region where to leave. There are mountains where also ski in winter time, sea side is nice, there are lakes, Rome is 2 hours away and Naples is 3 hours away and it is well connected to the North. Food is very genuine and people are lovely.

Hello there; given the sudden economic impact of Covid-19; would you say purchasing property in the Abruzzo region for a reasonable price is doable?? Just asking out of curiosity!!! Hypothetically; if one had 40,000 dollars; are they able to purchase a decent old farm house in a small village??

    • @Save_The_Bees_
      @Save_The_Bees_ 4 года назад +6

Hello@@lisamuchi8764 , I cannot say yes they are for the reason that I do not know the market. I can tell you that last summer I went to Borrello and some flats were on sale for 10,000 euros. Obviously the price depends on the land the house has. Also there are few villages well known, like Roccaraso or Rocca di Mezzo for example, which are more expensive than others.

Rather unsatisfying as far as not knowing whether or not they accepted the bid and would love to see how these lovely ladies ended up after all was said and done. The renovations would be nice to see after we've gone through this whole process and ended up knowing nothing. I don't mean to be negative. I enjoyed seeing all of the properties but fully expected to see them settled in the end. I guess this is more informational than anything. Maybe the ladies could do a walk through on RUclips just to show us how they've settled in? I would love to know how it all worked out for them, as I was rooting for them the entire time! I hope they had an easy go of it and are happily living their new lives.

Would’ve been nice to know if the friends were successful in purchasing that property (or a different one), which was a bit disappointing to not have included. Would’ve also been nice to have held off on releasing this until it was known which home they went with (or if they decided to continue the search), & if successful, to have seen the finished home after remodeling & the process for remodeling (permits required, or if permits aren’t required; it the town must approve any remodeling or just certain remodeling, and so on)- especially as this show is marketed towards the foreign property purchasers who likely not know what requirements for remodeling are needed.).
Otherwise, very interesting and the host has a wonderful personality and shares great little details of the different towns. I really liked the small segment given to a couple who had also made the move several years ago..

#1 Nice-not quite what looking for and very sloped landscape!. #2 Much better than #1, but nothing specific I could pin point as GREAT! (crossing off #1). I'm STILL LOVING the ladies! They both showed their "cards" personality wise. Weaknesses/Strengths etc. #3 X'd # 4 X'd #5 Loving it!
I suppose #2 and #5 are what I would choose from and same with the ladies. I have to go back and look at #2 lol (I forget-thus all my notes!). OK I'm going with #2 final answer!
EDITED: AWE! I'm used to regular "house hunters" or HH International. I did find this EXTREMELY entertaining, but I would have LOVED to have learned the final outcome of what the ladies ever ended up or if they ended purchasing anything together? A bit of a disappointment, unless this is a continuing series type of thing???? Hoping someone will respond. Thanks in advance! Renee

First one is PERFECT and checks almost ALL the boxes! I spoke too soon, the last one costs 20,000 more but totally worth it! RE: 1ST one, good views usually come with some sloped land, so what, if you're okay with planting them with groves of trees. Views are so important in life if you can afford them. Go for the first one with the views of the castle and the valleys and mountains. Or spend a bit more for the last one and go for the 360 degree views! If they don't choose a VIEW PROPERTY they'll never know what they're missing in life. It truly is about location location location, especially if you can afford to fix a building. You can never fix a boring flat non-view plot of land.

I didn’t understand this at all. The ladies tried to “chop up” the property instead of making the offer on the property as is. Then they made a low ball offer. The thing I least understand is why the sellers didn’t counter offer. Is this not customary, as it is in the United States. For a motivated seller to not counter offer just makes no sense.

Interesting how these houses aren’t “dressed” for sale compared to those in UK settings. Nice ladies who have a firm idea of what they’re looking for, and love Sara Damergi from Coast vs Country. House 2 is my pick.

I realized that at the end. The trouble is that they cut and paste these shows so much that the 80k hadn't been mentioned when they announced the total of 145k. Anyway, thanks for answering.

The last house is best for the Brits. Level land, space on patio, views, nearby town that looks bustling, and not deserted like a few of the others. I don't know what would happen with Brixit with buying a foreign property. UK is now not financially connected to Europe. If they do buy a property together they need a legal agreement as to how the property will be handled if one of them dies Would they have to buy out that 1/2 of the property to the heirs? Stickey wicket.
I think they are unrealistic, in trying to bring reno ideas from their present life to Italy. Cutting out walls in a stone building is very difficult as well as costly.
Maybe they should rent a home together for a trial run in Italy. See what it entails. They mentioned working in Italy, but Foreign workers are not welcome, as far as I heard. I think their heads are in England, even if their hearts are dreaming of Italy.

Interesting. Seeing how old people end up dying alone, or living in nursing homes, this is a great way to set up for yourself for productive and vibrant life in old age. Get together with other old people your age whom you totally trust and plan for the future. Identify simple jobs and hobbies you could undertake while at it... This would also be a good opportunity for AirBNB packages.
