Beautiful old boats that are a piece of history. It was hard to watch them destroy the one with rotten decks. Those old wooden boats have a soul. Thanks for the video Steve.

When they tore that down was absolutely heart wrenching. Just feels like another little piece of that dream of freedom and independence, hard work, dedication, extreme building skills just left the planet. To me the 10 or so thats left is literally the definition of "they don't make em like they use to". Seen a little vid on the Vansee about the owner and he even talked about how they can outlast steel and the sustainability of these boats and being able to keep fixing them makes such a difference. He said people ask him why he keeps using it...He say a new steel one is 4 million and his works perfectly fine.

Great care and skills still support what is remaining. Northern and a few others left the active fleet to become great homes afloat.
Thor and Alma were a loss of heritage.
Government trust should be spent in conservation rather than destruction.
IRUPE ll is now my conservation project.
    Thanks for the video.

It's so sad to see them broken up! I understand it's part of the life cycle, happens to lots of vessels, but it's like a dream ending

    Thank you for sharing.
I don’t how or why these old wooden boats have gotten my interest in the last 4 year, but I do know that they are some of the most beautiful creations that man has ever come up with.
It nearly tore my heart apart watching them demolish Thor, so sad.

I'm amazed that Thor was scrapped. You think we've come to understand the importance of our early industrial revolution history then you see something like that happen.

Aye m8! Interesting design of these vessels. Btw - could it be that you are somewhat involved in choosing anchors for TallyHo?
