I love how patti was herself and her knowing how timid Doug was she was patient and really nice to him. With her and the others it really helped Doug come out of his shell
I remember the episode where Patti asked Doug out for a movie date. It was very sweet! (Though Doug was a nervous wreck, and decided it wasn't a date because they didn't kiss.)
I think this show is part of a deep seeded reason I'm such a "hopeless romantic" sap.. I always found myself somewhat of a "Doug" when I was a kid, albeit I wasn't so pale and I had hair. Every episode rang so true with me in life though, I always felt like "Doug" was written for me and about me. I can only imagine every kid back in the 90's felt that way. I sure had my Patti Mayonnaise, too.. The girl even had that same squeaky voice and heavily prominent "southern accent" (USA). She just never saw me that way, never even got close like Doug did. I believe Doug and Patti finally got together by "the end,", but I can't recall if that was even the original writers, a spinoff, a reboot, or an anniversary show, or even some strange brew of the aforementioned. I don't really recall even looking into this show since at least 20-25 years ago. Seeing this has sure brought back a lot of feelings! The music alone is just crushing the nostalgia button. This show was the greatest.

I think Nickelodeon’s Doug had a rare soundtrack CD, but it’s like a 30-second track titled “Missing You.” Somebody had uploaded the whole thing on RUclips… and you know Doug had some creative music and sound effects. 😂
