    • @m3mn0nYT
      @m3mn0nYT 10 месяцев назад

      No. Poverty is bred by a lack of investment in poor communities, not corruption. China is one of the most corrupt countries in the world and has a corruption index fairly close to South Africa, but significantly low levels of poverty and a strong economy because it’s invested significantly in its poor. It’s a lie that corruption destroys a country and largely deflects from other systemic issues. Corruption is a product of capitalism as the private sector seeks to capture state coffers - whatever “corruption” you think poverty entertains, it’s fairly minimal to the scale bred by Capitalist interests. Ban private ownership of resources, the wolves will not come near them.

Fun the vitriol and anger directed to those you perceive weak . Before the sanction you had jails and the infamous Robin Island , what were they built for . They are full 16 million Zimbabweans l guess . You are quite funny folks . I hear a lot about don't blame the past , it's not us who did it . Turn around and use the blame shield . The truth is among yourselves hate each other so you had to create one enemies . It has worked for 23 year Actually one of the faction created the Zim boogeyman just like Haiti and Venezuela. I used to hear a lot about those two until 2002 when Santa landed in the hot sun of Africa on a sledge and you got your own nicely wrapped gift of rhetoric labelled Zimbabwe failed state . . Please next time when you bring people who understand Zimbabwe situation don't bring kasukuwere. he just happened to be on the wrong faction but he could have been the core politician doing the corrupt allegation. next time please ask him to show his business profits that could afford him to build a mansion. Ask kasukuwere if he was much loved by his people can he walk freely in his constituency without being attacked because they are allegations of human rights abuse during violent campaigns in his time. he even got into office by violence using green bombers to force people to vote for him. he was part of G40 who thought they will plunder and steal Zimbabwe money. since he ran away ask him if he never siphoned money from zimabbwe since he was a minister for a long time. he happened to be one of the most corrupt person you always invite on your panel who is trying to clean his name but its all blood stained. ask him why they call him Tyson in bindura. tydon sons went to school in UK how can talk rubbish that he sons never found work. please dont invite a corrupt official again.

    Sanctions prevented investments into the country. This has contributed to the economic decline of Zimbabwe because clearly President Obama specifically told investors in a meeting ( which I personally observed), that they were not to invest in Zimbabwe under the conditions of ZIDERA sanctions instituted by the American government. Americans, in general do not care about human right abuses in African countries, but they care about how whites are treated in the developing world. In Zimbabwe, the land acquisition was the driving motive behind the sanctions implemented by both the European Union and USA. Do not be deceived by those who cry corruption without proper understanding of the issues. Of course corruption is everywhere, even in developed countries, but those who do evil use it as a stick to beat the poor.

    Hopwell cannot see a simple connection between punitive sanctions by the USA and her acolytes on the provision of good health facilities but he runs with the outdated and antiquated corruption buzz word his handlers always tout for Africans but mischievously neglects the impact of embargoes unilaterally imposed on Zimbabwe.

      This trash going on in Zimbabwe is the off loading of inflation by what we call prosperous countries to foolish countries like Zimbabwe. There is no reason why the zim currency should be pegged against the US dollar when Zim does most of its trade with China or south africa.

      Excuses. Sanctions were so light they didn't include even trade sanctions... Ministers driving American made cars, etc. Did you not hear? Even Kasukuwere admitted that sanctions were just an excuse.
      Now any sanctions against the country itself have been removed but amazingly there is still corruption and poverty continuing. Excuses and blaming doesn't help a single person and it doesn't help a whole country. How did Smith make Rhodesia so rich, eg: building new tar roads from bush even without toll gates? Smith government was under FULL INTERNATIONAL sanctions with even Trade sanctions and people were well fed with good hospitals, clinics, good sanitation and and good roads. What an excuse the sanctions were. Now let's see the new excuses, what they will be.
