My only photo etch tool is a set of Tamiya P/E pliers. They were about $20. Certainly nowhere near the cost of some of the P/E jigs, clamps, or plates that you see. Along with a set of good tweezers, they do everything that my skill level is capable of doing. I like those printed details you used, as well.
Rochm a welcome addition to arsenal. The perspex from two small photo frames and some clamp's/tape good for bending PE,can see bend line too.Just finished RFM T34\85,got it for their detail set with rear deck grill's and side grill's,not as hard as wilder made it look and makes a ton of difference.Love the focus on A\M and detail sets, scale should be aim but building Rochm Panther locking chain out of 56 parts you only do once. Thanks for vid.
Love you’re videos. I just finished a Panzer IV in Tunisia but after watching this I feel like a kid because I can barely use the small pieces they offer, let along the aftermarket straps you use
This looks great, I can’t wait to see the tracks all weathered up! I’m about to start building the exterior of an M8 Greyhound, so this is a nice bit of inspiration.
You are a great spokesperson for these aftermarket materials, in any case you did an outstanding job on the M10 IIc Achilles and I totally enjoyed it. Good luck on the Nationals. Kudos my friend.
I tend to model British & Canadian hardware (and the odd Panzer they faced in Normandy, am a research hound) and I am sooo looking forward to your painting/weathering video and the joys of SCC15 the most annoying colour invented, with 1,001 modelling variations depending on which product/mix you use :D It’s a great Tamiya kit, my only annoyance was the lack of detail for the driver’s compartment. Bit odd when you have that open turret so can see straight in. Academy did the full seats, gearbox etc but why Tamiya ignored it I don’t know. Fixed mine with aftermarket in the end.
Thank you! I am finishing it as a Canadian vehicle in Italy 1945 (1st corps 7ATR). I do wish there was some driver's equipment, but it's not super visible unless you turn the turret and I get burned out on interiors very fast. It's not perfect but good enough for me :)
Looks really good already, even without paint. Thanks for the tips, and taking the effort to put it on video. In my experience working with photo etch can be a little nerf wracking but when it's there the satisfaction will be great! On tip from my side: do not forget to drill a hole in the pickaxe where the handle goes trough! 😉
Sorry I wasn’t finished my comment. First nice to see you do a full build have you used Rye field full detail kits really nice. Glad you are still using metal tracks and added key details. Wishing you the best mate. Mike from Australia
Gosh, I am always jealous when I see your videos :-D I made this model a few months ago. I painted the inner turret details before assembling it, seemed pretty complicated otherwise. So I shall say that I am pretty curious to see the next steps.
Nice build video mate :) Looking good with the many accessory's on it . Nice stuf from the aftermarket very interesting to see how they enrich your model . Looking forward to see the next step video :) Keep on the good work and model on there. Stay safe and well mate
Another great build video Evan. 👍 I like the add-on armor track. Since we don't have much access to Wilder products, I use Blu Tack from Bostik smart adhesives. which I purchased a package of six from Amazon. I'll SMS you a pick of it.
Thanks for including so many different aftermarket brands, that‘s a very convenient overview of brands out there - I didn‘t have ROCHM on my radar. Very nice built. I take it you are in Omaha later this week? I am from Germany and thanks to the Gods of business travel I will be able to make it there for the very last show day. Please hang out there til the end and I will walk by to admire the Achilles!
@@Panzermeister36 On Saturday. As per info available to me, this IS the last day of the show. Sunday seems to be just general departure day, no showing/no vending at the venue. I might sneak in late on Friday already, but this all depends on how our own program goes. Remaining time for me on Friday might not be worth the entrance fee. But Saturday is fixed in my itinerary, and the hotel in Omaha is confirmed. Everything else will be decided this Tuesday, in the chaos of what used to be the never pretty but for the most part functional airport of Frankfurt/Germany.
That looks awesome mate! No wonder why you gave the Achilles this look, it resembles a bit a StuG or Panzer IV with all the spare tracks and stowage on it :)
You wouldn't be Panzermeister36, if you didn't spend x3 the kit price on aftermarket goodies, right? Been eyeing up the M10 and M36....🥰😍😎 Another winner there my friend! 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻🥇🏆
Great work as always which was done detail up hardly. Since appearance of 3D printed parts, the detail up scene had changed a lot. So, I think this video will be one of remarkable guide to use those parts. Looking forward to the next step and your art painting. Have a nice week end and stay safe carefully my friend. Best wishes, NOB
Awesome build and great inspiration, thanks mate. I also have one in my stash, with some Eduard and RB stuff...looking at your build, I guess I need some more aftermarket now ;-) Cant wait for the painting and weathering, have fun :-)
Thanks John! I'm the same way, but then you can always find a cool reference of a vehicle you thought was uninteresting. And, this is a Canadian unit so I can make my first proper tank from my own country :)
What show in Omaha?? please reply panzermeister.. I live in omaha and build armour .Ive been busy,, had to have surgery on 14th, july. Today is18th, I would go to show and see your work, if i knew exactly where and when !!!
Apparently COVID shutdowns made them have trouble with whatever factory was making their product, but they're supposed to be coming back on the market now. At least that is what I have been told by people who know the guys behind the company.
I find it extremely odd that you think that paint on tanks doesn't chip off much just from a few very low resolution black and white photos that you have seen from ww2. Small arms fire definitely chips paint regardless of it being baked on or sprayed on. Troops were told to aim for periscopes and such so tanks definitely got shot at by small arms fire.
I spent this afternoon painting chips on this very vehicle so I'm not 100% sure what you're talking about. I always make wear and chipping effects on my models.
@@Panzermeister36 in previous videos you have said "Tanks don't get chipped that bad." I know you didn't say it in this video, I also know it is a matter of taste. My comment probably read more aggressive than my intent.

Highly recommended kit. I built one last year. Enjoyed it immensely.

Have fun with the M8!
Filling the holes for the light guards is so simple! Genius!

This is awesome! Btw from the sound of the background music, you’re obviously an Ace Combat fan; have you ever considered an aircraft build?

Nice tip there with the masking fluid for temporary part fixing. Nice build so far :)
Great stuff! I wish that I could see it in person.

I wonder if they stored empty fuel cans upside down and full ones right way up?
Not sure, but that could make sense!
Beautiful build sir, you've done an amazing job on this one, thanks for the tips, they are very useful.
Patton would have an aneurysm if he saw all that track armor. Lol
Lol, you're not wrong! But the Canadians didn't mess around I guess :)
Very nice job!
Thank you! Cheers!

The coaxial mg could be replaced with aftermarket stuff as well....

Are those Panda plastic tracks do you glue them or are they friction fit
I used Panda for the track armour. It is glued. The running gear tracks are Masterclub metal tracks which are essentially friction fit.

Thanks! I am working on painting and weathering it right now :) it has to be done Tuesday for the competition...wish me luck!
Great detailing 🇨🇦🇺🇸
Thank you!
I think it's good to have rubber tracks in such a kit. I always use metaltracks but beginners will be happy about rubber tracks...
That is true. And, modern rubber tracks are much better detailed and much easier to glue than the older ones.
As usual great video. Question though where do you buy your 3D printed tracks and such? Thanks in advance
I bought most from the original manufacturers or Sprue Brothers.
Do you use standard liquid glue for the 3d printed parts, or do you need CA?
I just used normal CA glue on them.
Build looking good, will you be trying out tamiya's latest m18 Hellcat in the future
I might, but not soon. Coldemonspl on RUclips is doing that kit though, and I love his videos.
Evan, I’m not much of a Allied guy, sometimes I’ll dabble in World War II Soviet, but wow this is an impressive build, congrats

nice, but why is it that TAMIYA are the only company I can think of that do NOT include a part's list?!.
Fantastic video. Funny looking StuG though! 😳😁
Thank you Stevie! Sometimes I have to build a target for the StuG....just kidding :) and, it is fun to make my first Canadian subject.
The best Tamiya kit from my point of view is the Easy Eight...
