I agree, I loved the Y&R in the 80s and 90 s. Kristoff was so talented and gorgeous.
I read somewhere that after Krisoff's son committed suicide in 2014, Kristoff was never the same after that, 5 years in February of 2019, he was gone.😕🥺😥

I loved that! I The show premiered in March of 1973 and my husband and I were married in July of 73. have been watching the show ever since the beginning.

Amelia and Sharon was great love the whole cast.
I couldn’t stop laughing at this exchange. I laughed so hard my sides hurt. The Pierre character portrayed by LeBlanc is gut ripping hilarious! I enjoyed seeing the cast doubling over in helpless laughter. They obviously enjoy working together.
I started watching in about 1990 during the Ryan and Victoria days! Loved Ryan so much
Nancy Shirah I started watching in 1994; Nick was dating Sharon and had Nick’s bF,, Matt....and they got into a fight in Crimson Lights
I started watching in 1979 with my mom and was hooked ever since.

I was like 8 when it began and missed the first episode,but started watching at around age 9.Missed alot,going to school.Mostly only got to watch during summer vacation.This is great,to see this reenactment.

Both of the readings for Y&R and B&B's pilot episode were a delightful treat. I noticed that both had the father warning the player plot. In Y&R it's Stuart warning Snapper about Chris. In B&B it's Bill warning Ridge about Caroline.
The name ‘SNAPPER’. That’s the character I remember hearing the most when Y& R first came on the air.

Those were the good ole days. What we watch now can't compare at all.
I remember my mom watching Y&R around 1979 about the time the characters of Victor,Nikki and Paul were added to the cast and they are also the only characters still on the show from that era,and there was also a family named Prentiss on there then with two brothers Lance and Lucas,Lance was married to Lori Brooks and his mother Vanessa who was very wicked and spiteful hated Lori so much that when she found out she was terminally ill threw herself over a balcony to make it look like Lori pushed her setting her up for murder to get her out of Lances life ,but eventually the Prentiss'es were out and the Abbots were written in and any of you who have kept up with Y&R over the years know the rest.

funny how Melody, Eric and Eileen worked with the actor who played Stuart Brooks (Robert Colbert) and Eric is playing him in a stage reading...way before his counterpart, Victor Newman
IDK how but I just found both of these they did for Y&R and B&B.. love what they did at 6:54! Shame they didn't do it for B&B though. Leblanc's hilarious in this.. I would love to see him do that french voice again that bit was gold;.

Lori W I don't remember Sally Mcguire. I certainly remember the brooks and fosters. I remember Pierre too.
Sally was Pierre's wife and she was having an affair with Snapper. Years later she comes back and has Snapper's 10 yr old son with her.

While the dialogue might be a bit dated, you can see that Bill Bell knew how to hook an audience from the jump

I miss Young and the Restless since it was taken off New Zealand tv, gosh must be at least 15 years ago now, along with Days of our Lives. I've missed out on so much. I remember one of my favourite episodes (wish I could remember the name) was when Jack, Victoria and a couple of others were planning to head along to a party and with tv land being only 1 hour episodes, the lead up to this party it took them two days to get to this party lol. And in this episode I am pretty sure Victoria had an argument with someone at the party, and it only took them 20 minutes into the show to get back home lol.

This wasn't as uncommon as many of you think. In January 1997 when Guiding Light celebrated it's 60th Anniversary they did the very first Broadcast as a Radio Show which was how they started back in 1937. Michael Zaslow (RIP) who played the evil Roger Thorpe, played The Reverend Rutledge. In the audience were Sharon Leal (Ex-Dahlia Crede), who would play the nasty Replacement to Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls and her Ex-Boyfriend Two Time Daytime Emmy Award Winner Kevin Mambo who became a sensation on Broadway as Fela, The South African Musician.
