Imaginator isn't just engrish, it comes from the fact that in Japanese the words "create" 創造 and "imagine" 想像 are homophones (souzou), so explicitly using one in place of the other highlights the song's theme that they are linked

I know its been a few months since you posted this comment, but i just wanted to clarify:
In hebrew, Met(מת) means dead, as in "he is dead" and Emet(אמת) means truth, and theyre both just normal words in the language. Both words end with a hard T, but since theyre singing in japanese theyre adding that h at the end, im guessing. Sorry to bother you

@@translating_cat From what I can find online in the past the letter tav used to be pronounced th and with a dot inside as t, but now in modern Hebrew it is always pronounced as t. Since the story is old, it was pronounced emeth and meth back then and not emet and met.
@@andrewstevenson4511 Yep, and adding to the complexity, historic forms of Hebrew, and the related Aramaic, had a lot of lenition/weakening of consonants (begadkefat). You can see it in "eloi eloi lama sabachthani", and remnants in Modern Hebrew words like "katav" (vs Modern Arabic "kataba" ("he wrote"), which doesn't have the same phenomenon). Out of those, v, f and kh/ch survived the most intact, where as th was largely lost to history.
I find it sad that I did not realize that, being so accustomed with the language. I guess the endings threw me off.

元ネタの埴安姫命は純然たる日本神話の神なのに聖書ネタだらの曲を作るセンス、好き

For a ~6 stage bullet hell game, WBaWC has an incredibly thought provoking premise that I love entertaining. This song does a fantastic job expanding on it, and I find myself revisiting it. 'I created you,' feels like such a powerful affirmation. I had always assumed listening to it, Keiki was talking to her sculpted followers. The image shown however makes me think a human is affirming their adoration for the idol that they created. Thought of Nietzsche's quote ''Is man merely a mistake of God's? Or God merely a mistake of man?"
Given the rest of his writings, it's the former.

The song does well to illustrate Keiki, and despite the seeming good she brings, even from just the lyrics and the video, there is certainly something more sinister at large. Is the light of this goddess akin one that saves? or is it one that burns? Seeing as humanity outsourced their faith to an idol of their own to find salvation, only to turn into idols themselves, I'm inclined to say that it burned them. Faith in a power beyond themselves, which Nietzsche derided, was their undoing, even granting the circumstances in which they called upon Keiki.
this song really invokes the thought process of realizing the 'enemy' might not actually be a bad person, but the line is too blurry to definitively answer
in wbawc, keiki saves the human spirits by creating haniwa, soldiers that never get tired and are immune to the animal spirits' opression and attacks, however the player is misled into thinking the animal spirits are the victims
in this song, keiki is summoned to save the humans, so she gives them imagination, the ability to shape their world. she also creates haniwa, but its not clear if she made them independent of the humans, or if she made the humans into haniwa. the line "I created you!" are probably the rebellious humans keiki turned into haniwa because they didnt expect this outcome

I love how these lyrics are so laden with meaning that they can be interpreted both in the context of the game's story and beyond it. Stack Bros are great lyricists.

Pottery/ceramics - what the goddess Keiki Haniyasushin represents - is one of the earliest technologies developed by human societies, and a key one that helped improve their living conditions and standards, setting them apart from the rest of the animal world. Keiki being a goddess of sculpting by extension makes her a goddess of human innovation and technology, a force that the beast families simply cannot fathom or withstand on their own.

"Your prayers have reached me, and I shall grant them. I will manifest for you, the power to change reality, Idola Deus."
The collective cries for salvation by the tormented human spirits eventually allowed the goddess Keiki to be made manifest in the Beast Realm. Her presence there gave the human spirits a means to overcome the law of the jungle, as humanity once did in the mortal world In exchange for their comforts, however, the Primate Garden becomes isolated from "nature" and enslaved to the technology that Keiki provides.

Ultimately, the human spirits are not "saved" by their own will or innovation, but by their complete devotion to the goddess Keiki (regardless of her good intentions) and her creations - hence "Entrusting this World to Idols." Is that a good thing or a bad thing, though, when their alternative under the beast spirits is the other extreme, a return to a survival of the fittest? - a "Shining Law of the Strong Eating the Weak," represented by the beasts spirits organized into mafia/yakuza-like "families." All these details make WBaWC one of my favorite Touhou stories. And Akatsuki really did its main "antagonist" justice with this one.
That part where the human spirits have to choose either a survival of the fittest scenario in a law of the jungle setting where most of them are enslaved by the beasts, or choose being enslaved by God and her strict divine will reminds me a lot of the Megami Tensei Series. Either way, the human souls have no free will of their own whatsoever since both ways are flawed.

It's really striking how the protagonists are just used by the animal spirits and are actually the baddies in this game. Or at least a morally grey force re-establishing the old status quo...
The Touhou-series really shines due to the moral ambiguity of the characters and setting.

イントロでこの曲のメインのリズムを刻んで期待を高める。サビ前は強弱つけた高速打ちで盛り上がりが急上昇。たまらないですね
IdoLatrize表記とIdoRatrize表記を混ぜ込んでいるのは何かの意図があるのだろうか。わざわざ大文字で強調するあたり、誤植ではなさそう。
英単語として正しいスペルは｢Idolatrize｣、原作内の原曲での表記は｢Idoratrize｣。
そこを神主が何かしらを意図して変えたと認識し、それを強調したか……？

人類史上で宗教は人数多い伝言ゲームのようにだんだん神からの意思から外れていき・・・・最終的には人間達は自らの傲慢さゆえに宗教を争い事に利用して沢山の人を殺してきた。
その結果本来の正しい信仰の姿は失われてしまった・・・・・
だから違う英語のスペルを入れることで神主様はそこを強調したかっただと思います。

神が自分を救ってくれるという偶像を信じて・・・・だが神（袿姫）からすればそれはアダムの子達（人間達）に与えた力のひとつに過ぎない。
つまり 神を勝手にどんな闇からも救ってくれる救世主のように思っている人間達とそれを生まれつき鋭い爪（この言葉で欲が深いを示す）を持つ神が人間の力を利用して優しい手のフリをして人間達を支配しようとしている・・・・
その捉え方の違いがスペルの違いにも繋がってのかな思います笑

@@GrahamChapman why? In the oldest texts of the bible that we have, it says that lilith is some sort of succubus, or a big, big bird.

@@GrahamChapman have you EVER read the bible? I'm not cristhian, and I'm not saying the bible is all good, but just fucking read the passage talking about Lilith. It's a misunderstanding made by old scholars. Because the bible in greek says that god made the woman, then in other passage it says she created her again. So, because lilith is a feminine name, they thought there was a connection. This "dark side of the moon feminist" was created in pop culture, for some reason. The King James version AKA the first bible in engligh just translated lilith as "bird of the night". And again, the ONLY passage talking about Lilith talks about how that thing has a nest in a tree.
