what are y'all talking about, the s1krr has a 14.2k rpm redline for second gen and this one also has a 14.2k rpm redline. It makes max power at 13.5k and it looks like this guy shifted before he even hit the powerband...
please believe it. i have seen lots of terrible riders. there are more bad ones than truly good ones from what i have seen. few can get anywhere close to the times the factory posts.
He would be better turning the wheelie control off, it cuts a lot of power in first 2-3 gears (If he could manage the throttle and keep the front slightly off the ground).
Do that for much longer in the GTR and you'll need another rebuild. Such power levels are not reliable. Bike would do that all day, all week and you could then tour to France on it.
I know a lot of people are saying the bmw rider isn't good. To say that and have never ridden a 15 or 16 model s1krr is considerably unfair. that power band from these bikes is unreal in stock form let alone one that has mods on it. could he have don't better, sure.. but with what skills he has presented it's plain to see the bmw was still able to shine.

The power to weight ratio and grip are what matters when it comes to acceleration. The car weighs almost 10x that of the bike, and only has around 5x the power. I dont understand why people are arguing about which is faster. The only thing worth discussing from this display is the significance of the additional grip and stability of the GTR being able to almost negate the massive power/weight ratio advantage of the bike. Additionally, I dont see anyone mentioning the extra weight the GTR was carrying, since it had a passenger. Adding an extra 5% or more to the total weight of a vehicle is quite significant.
When I was at Santa pod a tuned Nissan GT-R did 10.2 sec 1/4 miles (not sure what the hp was but stock gtr is high 11s). Bmw times ive seen are shy of 10 seconds flat. Zx14 or busa manage 9 seconds from what I've seen due to longer wheel base I guess. It's really going to depend on the rider vs. Gtr with auto gear box who can achieve consistent times.
Drag race with Traction Control ...c,mon! If the driver could wheelie that bike it would be a big difference . I'm speaking of low wheelies but no gas cut off ..it makes a big difference !
Don't hold the brake for 3 seconds or more because the ecu will disengage launch mode to save clutch life. Anyway, this is an interesting race. Couple of fun facts here, the GT-R weights 1,730 kg with 1000 bhp, the power to weight equals 578bhp per tonne. The bike weights 204 kg with 199 hp, the power to weight equals 975 horsepower per tonne. GT-R has 397 horsepower less per tonne than the bike. Although the bike has much closer gear ratios but it can't put the power down without wheelie. That's why the bike is falling behind during low to mid speed range. According to the 1000 hp AMS Ronin GT-R, I think this GT-R cranks somewhere between 800-900 lb/ft of torque which is higher than S1000rr's torque to weight ratio. Beside having high tq to weight ratio, the GT-R is AWD and way longer meaning much balanced load transfer which allows the engine to apply full torque way sooner than the bike. Now here is the conclusion, the GT-R doesn't have the power to weight but it's much balanced and has more traction, the bike has closer gear ratios but the GT-R has more torque per tonne that can apply on both axle way sooner than the bike. Therefor, the GT-R should have much better low to mid range acceleration. The bike might hang with the GT-R between maybe 230- its top speed. By the way, is that GT-R the 2014 track pack? The wheel seems like the one from track package.
You forget the rider. If you add that to the bikes power to weight it will reduce drastically, whereas the GTR will be roughly the same. This means around 555bhp pr tonne for GTR and 650 bhp pr tonne for BMW. Quite close.
100 horsepower per tonne more is quite a lot, not to mention the bike has way closer gear ratios for mid range but still can't beat GT-R due to GT-R's much better low range acceleration

Cars might have the highest top speed, but you’re talking about millions of dollars for a factory car that will pull over 200, when $15k + exahust & ecu flash will put any modern liter bike at over 200. Like $25k for an H2 gets you 220+, and 50k for an h2r will put you at 250mph.
bike still pulls on the car but from what I can tell it's whoever has the better take off but it's amazing that a car needs to be at 1000hp to even be in the same acceleration catagory of any 1000cc class super bike putting out a mezly 180-200 hp.

BMW rider didn't do too bad, why all the neg comments? The first race was clearly evenly matched on starts and the bike won, the rest were a bit trickier with the car getting a sneaky jump start on the bike. Personally think the rider did OK
the bike would have been much faster if the wheelie was not in the equation......................for a car you can floor the throttle immediately at the start but you can't do it with bike
S1000rr takes out a Bugatti Veyron on a youtube video i seen , with a proper rider on the machine who knows how to get off the start line and hold the throttle also change gear at the right rpm and tuck in, look for the video and you will see
the rider of the motorbike struggled, launching, and short shifting probably due to poor throttle control, maybe should of had some more practice before hand, either way it looked like the bike did have the power to pull the car.
