  • In this video, we're going to tour Bambu Lab, AnyCubic, PCBWay, Sovol, Comgrow, Siboor, and FormNext! Brought to you by PCBWay. Check them out at jle.vi/pcbway to support the channel (and get some great products in the process).
    After 36 hours of grueling travel, we're back for part two of my tour of Shenzhen's top 3D printing companies. In part one, we visited LDO Motors, Creality, Big Tree Tech, BQ, and FYSETC, as well as a few of my initial impressions and conclusions. So if you haven't seen that video, you can check it out in a new tab: • I Got to Film Where No...
    Though these aren't sequential, so feel free to watch them in any order. In this video, We'll get to see a bit more actual manufacturing. Plus, I'm going to try to pack in even more manufacturers and some more of my surprising realizations and conclusions. Feel free to use the chapters below to navigate.

    A lot of people are complaining about the Bambu section of the video but it’s whole purpose was to build up excitement. Everyone already knows everything about the X1C and P series printers so showing them off would be a waste of time and like other large companies very little of their production would be in that office and rightfully so, Bambu doesn’t want to give anything about their new products away until their announcement.

    My perception of Chinese made products in terms of quality was dramatically shifted back during the early days of DJI. I was one of the early adopters of their phantom series drones, and I could immediately tell this Chinese company knew exactly what they were doing. Ever since, I’ve kept an open mind regarding Chinese products, as it’s obvious that China truly does have the capability of exporting quality goods.

    Excellent! Thanks for mentioning the 1 hour drives to each facility, I would have assumed everything was in one city. Good for Bambu for being tight lipped - they are cutting edge and Should not be giving away everything for "Free". Let's not forget that Bambu Lab began as kickstarter campaign where they raised $50 million in funding.

    A key missing step with how those boards work is, its a sandwich of multiple "planes" or layers separated by insulators. Often a "ground plane" that is all zero volts and another that is full volts. They add some metal all around the holes to connect the circuitry on the two outside surfaces to the inside planes.

    Token "so how many floors did the Bambu IP lawyers have?" 😂 Great video, I need to go back and watch the previous one. It's cool to see behind the scenes at so many places. I'm encouraged to hear Sovol is working on a corexy of some kind given their good reviews recently of their bed slingers. I don't want to spend a week putting together a voron and for various reasons bambu and creality corexy units are a no go for me, it's good to see other manufacturers are working in the same space on products that are on the way.

  • @RocktCityTim
    @RocktCityTim 10 месяцев назад

    The Sovol filament drier is fantastic. I'm like you - living in an area with 60%-95% average humidity results in wet filament after only a day or two out of the bag. The Sovol unit gets things down to around 18% and having a seal around the enclosure, that level stays there for a number of days. I now even dry my IIID Max PLA+ when working on a prototype.

    If you’re impressed with pcb’s should look up asic’s, if you haven’t already…the process of taking a 1’ square pcb and miniaturizing it to a pin head.

      Taking a small PCB and miniaturising it is a bit of an understatement and not really accurate. It isn’t just like a tiny PCB it is making a custom chip design, pretty much making your own integrated circuits.

    I love the idea behind the censored portion of the Bambu tour! Very creative and fun, however that tone is far too loud or maybe I just found the pitch to be very uncomfortable.
    Keep up the amazing work, thank you!

    Did not like the Bambu portion. They want to act coy? Fine, but one bleep after another for the better part of two minutes was too much. Would like to see more from PCBWay, but make sure to get a technically knowledgeable guide next time :P

    The Bambu Lab visit focused on what you couldn't tell us was a waste and clickbait-ish. (Would have preferred just the team still shot and your verbal summary of what you could talk about.) Otherwise, a solid video. The vitality in the different teams was palpable and fun to see. Would be very interested in a video going into detail on your closing summary comments about China and the 3D Print biz. The sprint across the the different companies gave a good sense of what's happening, but we'd really benefit from your MBA training in the "so what" of your trip. Thanks!
