I am totally against slavery and I remember being 11 years old when we first studied the slave trade in England. I saw the pictures of the ships used and how black people were housed within the ships. It is one of those occasions which was forever imprinted within my memory as to this day it is hard to understand. I instantly see those ships as soon as I think about black slavery.
Yet modern slavery is still a huge industry which does not have enough resources tackling it. The sex slave trade and slave factories is a blight on humanity and has to change, no matter what your race or cultural norms, it is wrong. We should breakdown the prejudice and clamp down further on those who today deal in modern slavery. Forced marriage is another form of slavery there is still a huge battle needed against global slavery of every kind.

You seem to forgive your ancestors for selling and trading you. All the while slavery ran rampant in Africa. You should check out Liberia, post civil war to see the TRUE HISTORY. I’m sorry you and yours were raised to be professional full time victims at every turn on every occasion. Yet all the while having zero personal responsibility. Also trained to say I CANT BREATHE, because your sooooo terrified of cops, and it shows.
Your raised to believe your a VICTIM, so a victim you shall be......FOREVER. And nothing more.
Society sees you race as a VIOLENT PUBLIC MENACE , OH AND VICTIMS

Unfortunately its true, kings and queens sold prisoners of war from other tribes, (there were many different tribes and they spoke many different languages) to the Portuguese and English

SLAVERY should never have happened. There is no accurate total of how many deaths took place before arriving here AND AFTER! Makes me very very upset!

If you go through the trouble of going 100 miles inland to get the best of the best then why just allow them to die on the passage over. 4 months is a long time to be piled on top of one another. Most people can't survive that.

Tancy Milligan most people didn’t survive that ! These whites did not care . They saw. The Africans as animals and so were treated as trash . Some were purposely killed out of rage .. and others died of illnesses , Diseases , thrown overboard . They did not care

@Cee-Allah I lived in track housing apartments when I got enough money to get out of homelessness it was cash apartment if you know what I’m talking about. While I lived there a 13 year old blood got shot point blank in the head after he chased the crips for shooting up his friends apartment below me. They fought over some chick I kid you not. That was really sad I went to the funeral. The bloods retaliation was they knew who did it and burned their apartment which was right next to our complex and burned their van in the parking lot. The guy and family survived cause they skip town. That’s my experience and it wasn’t too cool

The way she is telling the story is the way i learned it as well. What we know is those peoole were taken from thier homeland against thier will. Stripped of thier tongues, religion( ???), familia, health, sanity and had to endure many inhumane acts. And yet armed with this information some of us Black Americans still treat each other like ish. I'm just trying not forget the struggle..
