Missed a big one in my opinion: have good posture. Bringing your shoulders back and sticking out your chest properly shows off muscles, makes your stomach flat, and brings out your traps.

Great evidence based content as ever thank you. For you older guys, when you are 32 and standing in the bar all the other guys look pretty good. But when you are 62 like I am, you might be the only older guy in the bar that’s looking fit, and that commands respect. And even more important at my age to keep the reps high and the weight low, and form really good, to avoid injury. Cardio is equally important. I went on a long jog walk with a couple of young fit bodybuilder guys, and left them way behind struggling for breath and they were really impressed. As you get older your objectives change slightly but lots of volume, with lighter weights, proper cardio, and a good diet can keep your functional well into old age and looking good at the same time.
So true. I'm a young buck (47) LOL! and I injured myself trying heavy on the incline recently. Lighter weights and higher reps is where Im gunna be from now on.

When I started working out, my two main mistakes were lack of sleep and not eating enough (not being in a caloric surplus). I always thought I was eating enough and was disappointed because my weight stagnated. Then I got my first diet plan created (I think it was from website called dietarize). I realised that my previous food intake was way below my needs, although I thought I'm good. At the beginning it was hard to eat 3500 kcal in a day, but I got used to it. I started noticing real gains and it felt amazing. I wish I'd understood the importance of diet earlier.
I eat 4200 kcal a day, but I am pretty heavy hahaah😆

The most simplest hack is to switch to a shirt that is more thighter to your skin , flex the muscles in the second picture , take the 2nd picture where the light is facing directly above you and you wear oil for a slightly more definition and obviously do some editing ..
Edit :- Oh I almost left out .. Act very sad a depressed in the first photo and act very happy and proud in the 2nd photo . (This technique is a must cause almost all RUclipsrs does this)

NOTE: Those of us in our 50s... These tips work better for us older guys because most guys in their 50s gave up on their bodies under the assumption that they looked better when they were younger. This is wrong. Your muscles build up just as quickly as many younger guys. At 56, I lift more, run faster, leaner (not cut) all doing stuff like what's in this video. The only difference is that in your 50s, your skin looks a little different and you might not have hair or you might have a gray beard. Aside from this, people notice older guys that look in shape in a really positive way.
Sounds like your testosterone didn’t take a dramatic decline. I’m currently 31 and I often ponder about the volume and internist aspect of weight lifting. Many people say after 35 it all goes down hill… but then again many Americans are obese and eat bullshit.. so I guess it depends on the individual ?

@@almightypower4895 I went back the only weight loss program that ever worked for me, US Navy boot camp. Run 3 miles in the morning, 2-3 miles in the evening, eat carbs, 100 push-ups a day (throughout the day) and 5-6 hours of sleep. I got in shape just as fast in my 50s as I did when I was 17. Everyone’s different but I know a few over 50 folks that won’t do that thinking it’s only for young people.
Hahaha that’s really interesting. I should attempt to try and implement some of your Navy boot camp regimens. My cardio isn’t the best but I’m aiming to get it back how it use to be. I use to very fast and quick, and then as I got older I wanted to acquire more muscle mass and sacrificed my speed for mass.
I hadn't touched weights in 9 years, and just started back again about 6-7 weeks ago. I notice that i take longer to recover (at 57). I train light/high reps, but have only been able to workout every 5th-6th day..due to bad soreness. I'm slowly improving, and now taking protein powder (due to my poor diet - milk allergy) which seems to be helping a bit.
Lmfao train like a body builder.
1. Do roids
2. Lift Light weight that focuses on pumps
3. Flex in the mirror after sets.
4. Walk around with ILS (imaginary lat syndrome)
5. Wear cutoffs that expose roid pimples.
6. Walk around slow
7. Drag your gym bag on the floor
8. Tell people to eat more protein and tell them to follow you online and pay for training and meal prep.
9. Tell everyone your all natural.
10. Try not to make eye contact with the little guys that lift more than you.
11. Wear leggings under your shorts because you skip leg days.

I've done bodyweight training for so long, however since I didn't had pull-up bar or station I had to work around with stretch bands. I follow most of the tips you covered (or at least since 2 years ago self-coached), I looked at myself in the mirror to see a greatest weight loss and muscles in my whole life. Using a full body workout routine and also running. Thank goodness I look wider and stronger. However sticking to the foundations and the tips you said in this video. I feel more proud of myself than ever!

As long as I put my hours in the gym, and see results, I don't care about looking big as long as I'm strong
Here are my 5 tips to look muscular in a min:
1) Wear trimmed sleeve shirt that fits around your guns.
2) Wear shorter sleeves shirt to show your guns.
3) Wear raglan sleeve shirt to show wide shoulders
4) Wear slender-waist-cut shirt to show your inverted triangle build.
5) Wear smaller shirt that fits your pecs well.
(Given you really lift and your pecs are bigger than your tummy)

Working out has never been the problem for me, it’s knowing exactly what to eat, how much to eat, when to eat, I’ve always sucked at that

One thing I would add is to make sure you are wearing clothes that fit your new physique, I recently went from a L to a M and the comments changed from being described as "skinny" to "when did you get that big". Slim fit will be make you look like another person in the same clothes.

That's the same guy at 1:00.. lol.. he's simply leaning to the left. In my opinion, you overlooked an important point: maintain decent posture. Bringing your shoulders back and thrusting out your chest appropriately accentuates muscles, flattens your stomach, and draws attention to your traps.
Wear clothes that fit you. I’m 30, 6’2 170lbs and just realized I don’t have to wear large shirts just because I’m tall. I can wear a medium or small most of the time!

A testament to the skinny guys - I’m 47years old I weight 136lbs and I’ve smoked since age 16. I just beat my daughter in a 250meter race, her on her bike and myself on foot. I don’t exercise diet or jog. I’m working out the math on a bodybuilding program for old skinny guys like me to give myself and others a new lease on life. Here’s hoping it works…

I get to workout on my concrete patio in Central Florida year around, no shirt ,no shoes ,no socks and no rules.
I do push-ups with lifting my hand weights. But these are great tips! That’s all I want to be lean and get abs.

Yes, I gave this video a thumbs up. However, when you start up on the whole carb-up thing with quasi-mathematical explanation, this is where I get completely lost when it comes to dieting and working out. You might as will be talking Greek or Chinese to me at this point. It was never my strong suit and this is where I suffer most. This is why I am glad that I do not train like a bodybuilder going up for a contest. I just go to the gym, diet well to the best of my ability, so I could look physically presentable.
To get more muscular, just go slower with the weights. You will feel more work going into your muscles and it will grow better and bigger instead of using momentum and speed.

Since I got jacked when I was younger and still hold lean muscle mass well I will do the exact opposite since I no longer want to look muscular
I always do 3 different workouts for shoulder. And notice traps and shoulder grow. I wonder what the difference is using barbell standing up vs dumbel press sitting down. Both workbthe whole shoulder.
I always do dumbbell military press sitting down but after watching this vid I will try and do them standing
You tend to not compensate and use your legs and lower back as much when you do seated dumbell press
They say all the pump up does is use up glycogen which makes you look flatter. All you need to do is flex your muscles for like 60 seconds a part and that will bring blood to that bodypart and give it more vascularity and pumped up feeling.

Ngl if you got the right body type and are generally wider. You will look like a tank in a slightly oversized shirt. Not to mention way more comfortable
