    This is the gold standard for reviews of clothing. It's all about the jacket, not the reviewer, no unnecessary hype or drama or attempts at humour, reviewer speaks clearly and in a coherent conversational, not preachy, way, not selling or pushing a sponsored product or supplier so objective and independent, covers things a buyer wants to know, plus reviewer's own opinion, adds in a few shots of the jacket in daylight outside not just studio shots. Lighting, sound and production very professional.
    Great work!

    I have this exact jacket, I really like it. I own about 10 leather jackets of various brand and color and this All Saints jacket is one of my favorite because it’s comfortable and versatile, it goes with just about anything. The leather is very soft. I think the quality is as good as anything you will find that is similar to this jacket which I consider a fall to spring jacket. I live in Arizona and I can wear this jacket from October to April. It’s not too heavy but heavy enough to keep me warm in the winter so I can layer underneath. The Schott jackets are nice but in my opinion they are meant for colder weather places like NYC, etc. If you want a jacket you can wear more often I would recommend this one for sure. I don’t really agree with comments about it not being of good quality I think this jacket is great quality. You can’t compare something Ike this to a thicker leather jacket for winter because of course the thicker jacket is gong to have more durable leather to combat the weather. This is more of a fashion jacket that can layer to also keep you warm but if you live in extreme cold I’d go with something heavier. Remember, there are classes of leather jackets and it makes the most sense to compare jackets in the same class. When it comes to leather jackets there’s motorcycle jackets, fashion jackets, winter jackets, and so on. Comparing this to a motorcycle or winter jacket doesn’t make sense because they make them out of completely different leather. You’re going to prefer a lighter jacket in a warmer climate but that doesn’t mean the leather is bad it’s just appropriate for the climate.

    For me if it had a shirt collar it would be perfect. I like to pop my collar, im kinda cool.
    Edit: i do own an AllSaints leather jacket and the double zipper is great its as smooth as silk and never one has it come close to getting stuck.

    When I lived in NYC I happened into the All Saint's store in the West Village a couple times on the hunt for a better leather jacket. When I handled the jackets they just felt delicate. I think to a certain buyer they are going to perceive the jackets as "supple" or "comfortable" and it will be exactly what they want but to my hand it wasn't.
    At that time I was in school and I was rocking a Lucky Brand cafe jacket in an equally thin and unimpressive goat skin. The All Saint's edged out the Lucky brand leather in quality certainly but was overall still thin and heavily corrected. The Lucky Brand I snagged on sale for 250 bucks, maybe less I can't exactly recall. The All Saints was definitely not big enough of an upgrade to justify at the time.
    I held out two more years till after I graduated for a Schott and was happy to have spent the extra money on it.

    I have several all-saints leather jacket,s biker style ones and I've had them for years and love them. I do have a bunch of John varvatos jackets. I will say the all-saints one's seem better for winter in Canada, but the varvatos ones are definitely nicer, more delicate and unique.

    I own the All Saints Cora jacket, and I am happy with it. It's a very slim fit, and as troy said, if you have anything extra around the mid area, it may not be the one for you. Extra value for me was getting the jacket on sale from Bloomingdales. They carry All Saints, and sometimes they have large discounts site wide. I tried it at the store, then waited for a sale, and ended up paying like $350. Still significant money, but far less than the current retail tag; I would say that's a more honest price for the Cora.

    Great review. I’m not too familiar with All Saints but from the research I’ve done they just appear to be an overpriced fashion brand with not so great quality for the price point. Personally I would go with Thursday Boot for a much better value or sprint for Schott.

    • @Stridewise
      @Stridewise  11 месяцев назад

      I agree your best bets under $1000 are Thursday for value and Schott for quality. AllSaints really seems fine though, like Troy is keeping his jacket and likes it. It's just not Schott haha

    Fantastic video, covering all areas with a refreshing, weighted and well-thought-out opinion.
    Though I prefer companies that are more tried and tested designs and construction (such as Crockett & Jones or Barbour) over fashion brands, sometimes you find gems from fashion-orientated brands.
    My black AllSaints Survey Double Layered blazer is incredibly well constructed and looks timeless, however it does have leather shiny leather segments the elbows and collar (deliberate as part of the design, and looks great). After watching your video I will keep an eye on these segments.
    Alongside my AllSaints Oppose Boiled Wool Scarf, I can wear my either my AllSaints Survey blazer or my two Barbour jackets (Gold Standard Cainwel olive wool or Corbridge sylkoil waxed black jacket), any Levi 512's jeans, and my Crockett & Jones Chelsea 3 or Northcote boots. The combo is great.
    My AllSaints Survey is the most I can afford for a sharp, fitted looking leather jacket, and spoke to me, so for me it's a great investment. This is an example of where a fashion brand can do good!
    My next leather jackets (in the future) will likely be from one of these famous brands:
    - Aero Leather Company (Scotland, UK)
    - Wested Leather Co. (Kent, UK)
    - Atelier Savas (Nashville, Tennessee, US)

    Don’t buy all saints. $600+ for this absolute joke of a jacket is almost insulting to your hard earned money. Buy from Vanson leather if you want something at this price. Get Aero Leather if you want something solid for years, Schott is okay, it’s really just okay. Even Cockpit USA is miles better than this. Heck even Five Star Leather puts All Saints to shame.

    Great review - I love Troy! I'm curious if you guys would consider reviewing the Gustin leather jacket - they have a full Chromexcel jacket which seems very high quality and made in America for under 800 dollars. It even has a one piece leather back, something which I don't see often. I'm curious what you guys think about Gustin as a brand as well - made in America clothing of what seems very high quality at price cheaper than anything comparable I can find.

    Hating the two way zipper is insane to me, I very often undo the bottom button on buttoned jackets, so having that option in zipper form is invaluable. Regarding the corner cutting seams, I find having a seam straight down the spine is the worst. It's a non-starter for me if spending any decent money.

    • @ron5545
      @ron5545 8 месяцев назад

      Agreed on the double zipper and bottom buttons. It's a must. It also adds some authenticity to the jacket even if you don't use it for riding. With seams and patches, I don't mind them on certain style jackets as they can help give a utilitarian look, but it has to be done right.

    This is such a shame. If Indian or pakistani manufacturers would get their shit together, they could really blow this stuff out of the water in terms of price. In terms of material, you lost me at "corrected". At $600 I can accept not the smoothest cowhide but well tanned, but sanded cowhide is not for me. Leave that crap for upholstery. I happen to live in India and know we can do better (Pakistan is fucked rn, Bangladesh is op). This brand is ripping you off.

    What does it mean not to last 10 years of hard wear? Is it the seams falling apart? Or the leather will rip? What happens when a leather jacket starts falling apart after years of hard wear, what are the first signs? thanks! (I don't ride a motorcycle so...I am not looking for anything like that.)

    buy the best that you can afford. great advice. I always buy the best phone I can and keep it for 4 years or more, if it lasts that long. Same with cars, I'd rather have the best spec of a particular car than the higher end vehicle at a lower spec but comparable price.
