    I used to to create a necklace! Since my thread was not the right one for the coaster. My flower came out too small, so reuse it and made a necklace! Awesome and simple to make. Thanks!

    It took a while to visualize what you were doing but I finally began to see what you were doing. This is for advanced students. It may seem simple to you but that is only my opinion. I do like the end results. The filler is genius.

      Yes, totally agree. Don’t make it easy and simple at the title make people confused. Without macrame background, sorry to say it’s totally difficult for us to understand . I gave up.

    The design is lovely! The part of the tutorial showing how to get the first few rows started was kind of brutal. Work was covered with hands and the direction of the half-hitch knots kept changing. Maybe it was an editing issue. Also, I ran out of string before I could complete the flower. Might want to add some extra length. The coaster ends up being quite small, so I plan on doubling the length of everything to make a trivet.

      Agree! I crochet and some tutorial videos for super beginners show each strand as a different color. That would be very easy to see what's going on here.

    • @ShariDingley
      @ShariDingley Год назад

      I also ran out of string. Leaving 2 inches on the ends was not enough length to tuck in at the end, and I didn't have any single strand, so I used 3 strand rope. Only got 8 petals, not 11, and couldn't tuck in ends on one half. The outer end cords were not secure enough and left too wide a gap and it looked awful. Will try again with single strand, and increase the length of the cords and hopefully that will work.

    So I’ve been told to be very crafty and I live for everything diy. I came across macrame and fell in love with it. I’m barely starting and on a tight budget. What would be the best/ recommended type and size of cord/ rope to use starting off? There’s so many idk where to start. Help me please???

      Hi Alexandra, to answer your questions, refer to the "how to choose macrame cord"
      video on my channel. That video should give you a good overview of macrame cord.

    Why do you keep covering the knots with your whole hand at the start?!, really annoying, & why didn't you show us how to add on the second coloured cord? 🤔😒 otherwise an ok tutorial.

      The colored cord is added if your making it two tone ,and larger .she made it one color .So you just repeat the last round she did. she wasn't covering the knots on purpose ..she was holding it down. I do the same .... Hope this helps.

    Your tutorials are truly terrible. I’m sorry, but your hands are covering the work so you can’t clearly see what you’re doing. You don’t repeat the motions so someone gets more than one chance to see it done and you move so fast. Very difficult to follow.
