🪩NEW DISCO ELYSIUM VIDEO!🪩 “Kim fails his electrochemistry check (animation” video is NOW LIVE! I promise it’s a lot better quality-wise than this one 😅 Link: ruclips.net/video/bU1BqTzqjIU/видео.html
I like to imagine Harry is thinking how not Disco this all is and he's really losing all will to continue with the case and then see Kim's reflection in Measurehead's eye and is just "Oh yeah that's my cool partner, better act like I know what's going on still."
KIM KITSURAGI - "I think this racist is better than the last - but the next racist will be the really good one." YOU - "How do you know there will be a next racist?" KIM KITSURAGI - "There always is"
at first I thought I could talk him through, but he started to talk about sandwitch and I completely lost the plot. This animation captures that perfectly. Wish to see more
It was so funny because I literally didn't understand a single thing, only heard racism over racism but couldn't understand anymore why. Meanwhile my partner started listening and immediately went "Oh, god, oh, yeah, I see what's going on." and he understood the words and started skipping because "I can't listen to this guy."
It becomes much easier when you see where the writer got their inspirations for fictional races. Koijcos are slavs, Semanese are indigenous people from Polynesian islands, "Ham sandwich race" are Anglo-Saxons
yeah this is so true at first I tried to read and listen to what he says, but after some time I was just fast reading it or even ignoring it, because listening to his tone was just mind numbing and also because of all his speeches being written with caps lock it makes it more annoying too yep he fits this game really realy well XD
Listening to Measurehead was a chore, and gratifying when at the end I pointed out how fragile his beliefs were, based on his knowledge not being from his homeland, but because of hearsay from the radio.
so true. i zoned out about 10 minutes into his interaction and only read anything when he asked me a question. i remember NOTHING of what he said, (besides his hatred for al-ghul,) but i sure do know that that was an awful 1 hour. or.. however long it was. it felt like an hour or two
I could listen to someone like Measurehead for hours. It's like a circus and the clown of the show is an insecure ultra-nationalist fascist who views the world like a 5 year old who attends Klan rallies with his dad would. He's the best criticism of fascism I've seen in a video game. Also the exaggerated french accent is so funny. "Baaseec ra-ceest" "cul-ture" "tip aa" "tip bae".
lmao this encounter so good. Like a solid depiction of a racist, humored and with a weird mystic vibe with all the AL GUL stuff when you solve the racial enigma
Al Gul is alcohol. I am under the impression that the native Semenese word for alcohol is very different (because it is likely different connotated in the culture), and the modern Semenese use the imported word 'alcohol', albeit modified through centuries of colonialism and creolisation. Al Gul sounds mystical, but it's not. The same notion can be applied to fascism.
@@qugmo i went int harry too. was a choice i made to make him closer to how i play those sorts of games, but in doing so i think the character i arrived at could be considered a canon harry. This game really invented a new world with new countries and new ethnicities just for one specific character to be super racist about all of them
Fr 😅
Hey man, it’s good world building lol
It was actually a table top game that they played amongst themselves so they developed the lore as an actual game no one will get to play.
There's also the novel that takes place in the same setting that pre dates the game but as far as I know it hasn't been published in English
the ethnicities very much mirror real life ones
Really expected the spin kick at the end.
Haha! I would've done it but this was my first attempt at making an animatic, so I was pretty much incapable making Harry do a spin kick 😅
Really takes some physical instrument
@@qugmo maybe a milestone video for the future when you advance your skill, great animation

Same. (I think) He is both comforted by the fact that Kim is with him, so he doesn't want to disappoint him by losing his composure.

@@dotjason8087 "That will be our lucky racist!"
Anyone notice he puts on the thick accent to seem more genuine? And that he’s never seen the homeland once
I can never talk to him
He started rambling about potatoes and things that just contradicted each other, then I started laughing.
I think he's the most consistent racist.
at first I thought I could talk him through, but he started to talk about sandwitch and I completely lost the plot. This animation captures that perfectly. Wish to see more
Fr, he is just mind-numbing 😅 Thanks! Appreciate it ♥️
This is a clear sign you consume too much algūl
The game shows how far gone some of those people are. Best you can do most of the time is just shrug and walk away.
Not only is he a racist, he’s an EDUCATED racist
@@UCannotDefeatMyShmeat his ideas are ballonie. Like all racist ideas, tbf. So he didn't have a lot work with

@@AutieZo you got it. Exactly that.
I like how the game makes fun of everything and everyone, while still managing to be intelligent and mature about these topics.

How dare you cut out the elaborate roundhouse kick?
I like your art style and the quality is good! Thank you creating this animatic.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate it! This is my first animatic (and had trouble using Procreate in making it) so it really means a lot ♥️
I got that spin kick on a 3% chance

Encountering him was the only time I regretted going for intelligence build instead of physical.
My favorite measurehead line is " stop explaining yourself no one cares about your beliefs"
I am so grateful that I managed to find the secret way in the harbour at my second playthrough
This art style is absolutely adorable! :D
Everytime I talk to him I just think of that review for disco Elysium where the reviewer called The game racist and fascist
Measurehead: *Goes into his speech*
Me: *ROUNDHOUSE KICK*

Ik it wouldnr have worked for your harry but it wouldve been great if youd just had him choose the punch option
I based it on my first playthrough (INT Harry) so brute force is not an option for him haha. Perhaps I'll try doing that in my 2nd playthrough.

The best way to get past Measurehead ☝️
I loveeeeeeee it
Thank you so much!
I'd rather jump over the ledge than listen to this massive pile of basso profundo slab of meat.
Be calm, 🥪
To be fair, what he is saying is incredibly stupid.
This is also how I feel about Trant. Everything he says is so boringly complex that I can't listen to him or focus on anything he's saying
