When you say, "Prosecutor issues critical news," you know full well that it will be understood as _the_ prosecutor, not Glen, who is _a_ prosecutor. Glenn, I served on a jury for a murder trial of a 16-year old gang member being tried as an adult. We were not instructed to delay taking an initial vote before reviewing the evidence. It was also very clear that about half the jury wanted to be done ASAP. Despite this, the first thing we did after selecting a foreman was unanimously agree to review all the evidence before taking an initial vote. The teenager might be spending the rest of his life in jail, and we felt a responsibility to consider everything before making that decision. (The death penalty was not in play.) The prosecutors were surprised we took 1-1\2 days to come to a verdict (it was a very strong case), but when they heard our reasoning they were very appreciative of our efforts. The whole experience was surprisingly uplifting, and I was very proud of the diligence of my fellow jurors.

LOL I was foreman on an armed robbery jury years ago. We reached a verdict around 11:30 AM on the second day. When I said I would notify the judge, two of the older ladies stopped me and said, "If we wait half an hour, we get another free lunch." I had an Italian sub.
I hope the ladies were able to put something in their purses to take home. They may have needed it.

I feel like this is a huge time for our country. I fear for all of us if Trump doesn't go to prison and/or is reelected. I will never vote for him, he is dangerous and so reminiscent of what was fought against in many wars of our past.
How do they protect a jury following a case like this? I'm saying blessing of safety for everyone in our judicial system, even those named Cannon.

They’ve been advised never to tell anyone that they were on the jury.
I can’t speak to this because obviously it is next level. I however was on a jury for a local high profile case and they did a great job protecting us. After the verdict we were taken out of the building where no press were gathered and we were never bothered. I hope it is the same for this jury and any other that have to listen to his cases.

Let's take a look at this: We have a defendant who has threatened the well-being of EVERYONE associated with this trial who might not be a 100% defender of his innocence. That this person was once a president of the United States is disturbing. That he is a serious contender for the position again is far beyond that.

I believe the odds of a guilty verdict are good. But the odds of Trump going to jail are very poor. Even if he gets a short prison sentence, which I doubt, he will still go free while he appeals the verdict.

I served on a jury, a 5 day trial. I'm fascinated by the process and I learned so much (even though the subject of the trial was boring. It was rich people contesting a will. So a lot of boring financial stuff but also some family drama thrown in.
It's such an interesting process and I highly recommend it. Learning about the law and our justice system is fun!
If we can vote properly to enable President Biden 4 more years to fix all the Trump-related problems, the sooner the better it will be to amend lifelong appointments for The Supreme Court & the most compromised members need to be shown the door. Keeping all things in place under a Biden Victory would be inexcusable.

Mr. Kirschner is correct. I was a foreman for a workman’s comp civil case and even that got pretty heated! We did reach a verdict though. The prosecution and the defense both hated it so we probably got it right. 😃

That's kinda lame that the jury can't access the court transcript to resolve disagreements of what was said.
When I served, this was the hardest part. We were allowed to take notes, but when my notes and/or memory didn't agree with another juror, it was hard to have meaningful determination of who was correct without having transcripts. We did have some video evidence from the police vehicle that we were allowed to see a second time, and some physical evidence that we could inspect/handle.

I was a bailiff for several jury trials. I never knew what the jury was thinking until their verdict was announced. I was in charge of the jury notebooks. I never read 📚 their notes. After the case was was over, I would take all the notes out of the notebooks and seal all the notes a send them off to be destroyed.

Regardless of the outcome, there will be outrage on one side or the other. Outrageous behavior tends to inspire more outrage. Trump is a master of victim outrage. If he’s found guilty, outrage. Hung jury, outrage.
The real question is who guarantees the safety of the jury and of the judge, if Trump's minions decide to do retaliate.

During OJs trial I remember the jury asking about the limo's statement of seeing a guy come over the fence in an all black outfit and enter OJ's residence. At that point I thought OJ was toast. So anything can happen. Pray for an intelligent and fair jury.

Go, if you are able - it can be an awful inconvenience, but an excellent experience.
It is an experience. I was one that lasted total with our deliberations 7 months. It was tough and utterly sad but we were all happy to serve our civic duty. I don’t know that I would be thrilled with another long case but being in a jury I would. Thankfully not sequestered and the judge was pretty chill. She wasn’t a jerk about dress code, worked with us if we needed time away and things like that.
I have gotten a couple forms but put down not medically fit.
I'm hearing impaired but don't know sign language.

I have always wanted to be on a jury. I was called for duty once showed up and the prosecutor told me he took a plea when we were in the elevator. Big let down.
If you have been called once, you will be again.
Same, same with me. Arrived early, stood outside the court on a cold frosty morning with many others waiting for the courthouse to open. Finally let inside only for the court officer to say that it was called off for the same reason. Damn!
Federal court 3 times - one plea bargain mid-trial, one hung jury, one conviction.
