@yelpetmc I've played on several Azumi flutes and liked them. I have several students who have upgraded to Sonare as well as Amadeus flutes with great success. I like Yamahas, also. I bought a fully gold plated Sonare PS 709 as a backup before I bought my solid gold flute and enjoyed playing it. No mechanism issues, pads were good. So, I would try to get at least a couple of each model to try of various brands and keep an open mind because you'll have more options!
@julie Yes, it's been sitting on my list for awhile now. Just trying to find the time (and environment) to get a recording out. More challenging that it may seem, but I have good intentions!
I'm trying out for the Oklahoma All State as well and your video has been very very helpful to me. Could you play Capriccio in D Major by Karg-Elert as well?
Hey @abyington52, I just read your email and your other comments should be up. I'm really happy that you are doing great on your auditions. If you need any personal time before I can actually post the Karg-Elert and Heinze, we can skype about those pieces at some point!
I def had to make sure my pads are sealing in the footjoint and I pushed more air through the flute to make up for any slow change from the Eb to C! Short practice routines including pinky work really does help!
I like the sound of that flute. Especially the low register. Very nice.
I have to play the first 12 measures for auditions for my high school band
I hope your audition went well!
Thanks this is for my All region auditions
I'm in high school and I have to play this for honor band .. thanks it really helped!!
This is one of the etudes for the Oklahoma All State Auditions preliminary round this year. I have taught it quite a bit the past few weeks.
I wondered what you were looking at across the room. ;-)

What is the song that plays at the beginning of your videos?
Mozart Flute Quartet in D, (mvt 1 opening) that my friends and I performed in a recital!
