I don't think there are "old school people" who'd have anything bad to say.

The traditions of Italian Americans remained as they were when the original generation arrived in the USA, while Italians in Italy inevitably progressed by leaps and bounds in adopting a more modern outlook when it comes to sex. I live in the USA and I can tell you with absolute certainty that modern Italians are a lot comfortable about sex than most Americans. Nudity is extremely commonplace in Italy and children are exposed to it from birth. No, this video would not raise a single eyebrow in Italy. Keep up the great work!

the answer is yes, old italians , some politics also, pointed at the explicit sexuality of the clip. one of them not even openly blaming it, but sneakly claiming something like "too hot to extimate the quality of the singer" .
I get what you're saying, and I think you made a very thoughtful and intelligent observation. After all Italy is the home of the Vatican therefore, for an outsider, it naturally does seem paradoxical that we would have such explicit sexualized images in our media. However, odd as it may seem, that is exactly the point. It's only in recent decades, after WWII and certainly after Vatican II, that Italians have slowly begun to throw of the oppressive shackles of religion (couldn't get rid of them fast enough🤣). There's been a steady decline in those who claim to be practicing Catholics for some time now and most of the young generation tend to be quite secular. However, Italy also has one of the oldest populations in the world (lots of old people and few births) so there is somewhat of a divide. The thing is that in Italy we are so used to seeing nudity/sexualized images on tv and in our media these days that everyone has become used to it (granny included). Therefore, hardly anyone bats an eyelid (except perhaps the diehard old time religious folks). Especially younger Italians are very accepting of nudity in general and it's far from being a taboo since even children are exposed to nakedness on our beaches: it's seen as something natural and harmless. When foreign visitors (mostly Americans) arrive in Italy for the first time they tend to be shocked at the display of nudity everywhere (or at least it seems like it's everywhere for them whereas we're accustomed to it so don't take as much notice) so, at least, in that respect Italy is less puritanical than America. When visiting Italy women in particular just need to remember to cover up when they visit churches otherwise, they can dress as skimpily as they please: no-one will get offended.
