I have about 100ish Arcadians. I think their basic general infantry look is very versatile.(hence why they make up the bulk of my army) I mean you have a basic looking combat helmet, if you don't want the brim on the front, or the cover thing on the back trim it off, you can get white metal gasmasks and goggles which attach well to the models, or upgrade them with groin protectors, thigh armour and shoulder plates if you want to run them as grenadiers/stormies. Can ask for greatcoat legs instead if you want winter theme. Just need to get them some jet packs from somewhere if you want a jump army.
I ordered a bunch of bits from them last year. Penal guard torsos and heads, gasmasks, etc. I plan on using them to switch up the monopose cultists and convert some old catachan jungle fighters. Great sculpts!

You can still score some of the old Citadel minis on eBay but very few are around, always good to get fresh models too.
My friend would love this! Me and my frinds are the only ones playing wh40k at our place. We've been using paper models until I got my space marines plastic models. He plans on buying a IG start collecting but also likes females in an army. This will be epic for him.

The way GW keeps increasing their prices, soon having an entire army of these will be cheaper.
The female heads look too small on a cadian kit, just a little tip.
Vicky has really lovely customer service, and her products are great quality having bought them myself. They are a bit fragile for certain products like the bugle but yet to have anything break in transit and work well for kitbashing, need to trim a bit around the collar imo though!
So this might be a dumb question but given that these look a lot like Tallarn and Moridan etc, is that what they are designed to be or are these minis for some other game entirely? Are they to the same scale as GW minis and wont look out of place? I have a random squad of Mordian Iron Guard and have been wanting to complete a force with them for the longest time, can’t believe I’ve only just seen these things lol.

People want Guard female models because lorewise it makes sense. Just like all female SOS/SOB and all male space marines make sense. I want female guardsmen because it’s a force made up of the general population (not genetically enhanced for battle) where the entire population is fighting multiple factions dedicated to their enslavement or destruction.
I love IMPERIAL GUARD but the gw ones are shocking, especially jungle fighters any reccomendations for them

IIRC the Penal infantry torsos have a 'bomb' collar. In Rogue Trader era they were controlled but a guard who could detonate anyone who didn't show 'sufficient enthusiasm' shall we say. I have some and using them as a Conscript squad. Just for the craic I'm going to get three of the Convict bombers for a Special weapons squad as demolition charge carriers!

Starhip Trooper (the film) looked an awful lot like Rogue trader era IG - not the othe way round! - And Cadians are the only ones that look like old school IG, except maybe Catachans n rough riders....

And I suspect that's the only reason anyone would watch a video about alternatives.

I suspect the difference is that people who want to play guards but want a unique looking army will be interested, and more than happy to pay similar prices.
GW haven't really been capitalising on one of the main things that makes guards appealing- their variety - for years. I personally have been looking for alternative catachan minis for a while, because while I love their life and aesthetic, I can't stomach how dates and cheap the GW minis look.
@@peterclarke7240 indeed I agree with this take on it. This isn’t the cheaper alternative to Games Workshop minis, but rather an alternative if we want to add spice to the guard/source some alternative models for games.
I for one really dig the style. Not had a need yet, but the fact looking any lady model turns my Etsy history into pornhub indicates a particular sensibility most knock off brands lack.
