    I've seen different types of the Standing Double Crochet. I think your method is the BEST! Thank you, Ashley for sharing this to us. ;-)

    OMG Thank you for this. I could NEVER do the one where you twist the yarn around the hook and pull it through.

    I definitely think this is a much better method! I've been doing a lot of color work lately and have had to play with different methods of switching or adding colors because clear instructions were not given. I am really glad to have this in my crochet arsenal now! Thank you.

    Can this method be used at the beginning of a row instead of a chain three? Those chains just annoy me.

  • @char8059

    Fantastic tip! I've never seen this stitch done this way, but I love it! Did you invent this? It's great!
    Do you have your own technique for eliminating the chain 3 turning chain at the beginning of new rows? The one that leaves the ugly gap? I'd like to know how you handle this. Thank you!

      Thanks, however I cannot take credit for it. There is a way to do that but I haven’t done a tutorial for it. Try searching for "chainless double crochet".

    I’m really sorry if this is a silly question but could you still use this stitch on a pattern where you’re not changing colours and just simply starting another row of double crochet’s? I’m truly sorry for my ignorance but I’m just starting to get back into crocheting after not touching yarn for over 10 years and there’s so many new and amazing techniques 😊

      Clarissa Milam That’s what I was going to ask too. I was hoping she would have done another row with the same color.

    • @MarieH528
      @MarieH528 5 лет назад +1

      You would have to cut Your Yarn every Row and Start it this way- It really isn't intended for anything else that I'm aware of! I hope she responds, I don't mind being corrected or shown something new.

    • @chrislopez5337
      @chrislopez5337 5 лет назад +1

      Marie Hahn Yes, That was her reply on FB so I guess it’s only good when you’re changing colors. No way would I cut yarn for every new row.

    • @FM-zs2fu

      It can be done without changing colour or cutting the yarn but I don't know how to explain it without showing you (does that make sense)... I know that there's other channels on here that show you but I cannot think of who... I'll have a look and see if I can find one and link it in...
