Welcome all to the first episode of the Houston zoo, a second recreation project focused on tackling the 55 acre Texas zoo with lots of warm climate habitats especially high quality South American areas. Note to anyone concerned with the Calgary zoo, both zoos are being built with no plans to cancel a project ( San Diego was a one off, performance related cancellation I regrettably had to make). Both zoos are long term projects taking a minimum of 1.5 years to complete especially the Calgary zoo as it will be a 2 map project as my largest project so far. Honestly not the most exciting episode to start off with but every zoo needs to start off at the entrance especially a complicated urban entrance like the Houston zoo. The parking lot section was skipped to shorten the video but a future episode will show off building a parking lot as the exterior of the zoo is built up.
CAPTAIN CALLUM!!! This is crazy! You have once again blown me away! If I could post a gif, it would be that one of Meryl Streep going "yes!" and pointing!
Whenever the zoo is fully completed, the zoo is definitely going to be uploaded to the workshop. Something like 50-60 episodes to get through first lol
@@captaincallum, well, better get cracking😂 No, but for real, it's nice to see somebody do an accurate recreation. I know that some others have been done (I think), but you're probably the 1st guy to actually plan to upload the entire zoo
hey can you do a tutorial on allowing the wall to be placed horizontally? ALSO this is amazing you deserve so many more subscribers because this is some of the best planet zoo gameplay ive seen. Youve inspired me so much!!
Man you are far too good at these recreations! Can I ask what piece you use between the tiled paths, to make them appear separated? Some kind of slim black/ recolorable piece? The text is just too blurry / small to see the name of it 😅 And just FYI, I think watching an entrance build is just as interesting as the rest. It is an integral & important part of a zoo, so... 😅 And there's shitloads of habitats being uploaded each day, so sometimes I prefer it when I get to see something different ^^
Thanks, the piece for the tiled paths is the indonesian wooden plank thin, the recolorable wood set that came with the tropical pack. The thin planks rotated on their side make a nice trim without an obvious wooden texture which can be used for lots of different uses.
It sure would! For now, builds like these are pc exclusive due to how complex the building is for real zoo projects and I would probably max out the complexity meter by the entrance lol
I'm currently busy with my realism props blueprints for the steam workshop but I'm considering starting exterior work for the natural encounters building next week. It will be a chance to showcase all the new air conditioning and building accessories blueprints I've been working on.

Hey that's pretty good! Love the Houston Zoo. We're members and attend weekly during the summer.
Thanks!

Thanks! Which wall is it that is being asked about? There is a variety of custom built walls used in this build.
