completely agree. I have same points in my mind when driving on highway. would like to add one more thing that when you are in blind spot of a vehicle, blow horn to inform him about your presence.
I have been driving on highways for 3 years. I followed the same tips conveyed by you. In spite of the fact i feel it dangerous whenver there is a bus/ truck/ or other Vehicle in still position without any Hazard light or other sign during daylight/ night & at the same lane you are driving at 100 kmph approx , and imagine a situation when on your immediate right lane other vehicle is moving at little slower. I had a narrow escape in the same situation . Gagan ji thanks 👍🙂
Bro, I would like to add one more point. Never overtake any vehicle on the extrame right side of lane before any cut-out. As you know the dividers at the cut-out are bit different shapes and width reduces proportionally while the divider again starts after that cut-out from the normal position.
Also sir ji...lane change karte time side indicator use kare...try to avoid left overtaking...right most lane use only for overtaking...and most important for safe distance use 4 second rule...or if it not sure what the heck is that...start counting like 1000, 1002, 1003, 1004....u will get ur safe distance then....

I want to correct you Gagan bhai please don't mind. Rightmost lane in is only for overtaking and not for fast moving vehicle. 3rd lane(if there is one) is for slow moving traffic. If there is only 2 lanes then also right most lane is reserved for overtaking only. Once overtaking maneuver is completed you should comeback in driving lane. In case of single lane highway you have to first warn the oncoming traffic with your dipper and do overtake by jumping to other side. Also look for lane marking: Continuous double yellow lane means you must not cross to other side. Yellow dotted lane means you can cross to other side with caution. White continuous line means you can't change lane. This is coming directly from rule books and there are many rules. But in my country who cares to follow rules trucks drive in right most lane and cars are overtaking from left I hope at least educated people can drive like educated driver. People park their car on highway. People talking on phone while driving. Anyway keep doing the good work at least some guys will start driving on lower beam and within speed limit..

I returned from a 1000 KM trip from Gurgaon to Ballia (U.P). Till Lucknow on Expressway, it was okay but once you cross Lucknow and enter the Faizabad road, you will get irritated. All the trucks drive on the right side even after dipper and horns they continue to be on right and everyone have to overtake from the left side. Even the small cars, bikes and everything else drive/ride on the right side and if you give them signal to move they look behind first as if the other person is mad, wait so that you overtake from left and at last get to left side with utmost anger. It's a nightmare driving in UP. Haven't given enough horns in 10 years which I used in 4 days.

there is something called "object obsession" , it means that when someone suddenly crosses the road , from right to left for example, you will be looking at that bike or bikers and your car will be going for sure towards that bike only. So what happens is that you will be applying the brakes hard , and your car however is going in that direction of the bike which also trying its best to complete the crossing in haste. The accident does happen unless at least in the last minute you will turn the steering out of it completely to the other side which means to the right side in this example. You will be surprised that entire right side of the road is empty and you are actually going to the left towards the bike which was crossing. All this happens in a minute and accident takes place. Please clear yourself , by looking at right and left review mirrors on a constant basis , in split seconds as a habit.

I had a small query regarding speedometer. This query may appear little different, however if you can throw some light on this. I have been noticing that speedometer of each car is different in terms of it's maximum speed and mid range speed depending upon car's built and capacity. Is it that speed below the mid-speed no. indicated on speedometer safer and that the risk increases as you run beyond the mid-speed no. indicated on speedometer for that particular car ?? Also that it affects the running life of a car, revving more ??
The most cases of accidents on NH's are caused by villagers, they suddenly come up to highway, never give any signal, and also drive in wrong side over the speeding lane! They also leave their cattles which always used to prefer to sit on highway road which leads to fatal accidents during nights...

Well said .. whenever I overtake trucks, I blow horn multiple times to make them realised that someone is trying to overtake them

Some fuckers just don't use lower beam even if I give upper dipper specially trucks. It is a big problem specially in rainy season.

+ never drive with gripless tyres on wet road specifically above 60,70 (high chance of aquaplaning due to which vehicle gets skid)
