Görögország egyik leghíresebb folyójához, a mitológiai Acheron-hoz látogattunk el.
Vadvízi evezéssel koronáztuk meg a napot, miközben a több száz méter magas hegyek panorámájában gyönyörködtünk.

Acheron River - The gate to the underworld 💙🇬🇷
Acheron river is located in Epirus region, just 46km away from Preveza city and only 25km from Parga. The river took its name from god Aheron, who in Greek mythology is known as the god who guards the river of the underground. According to legend, the souls of the dead were transported to the other side of the river Acheron, to the god of the underground world Hades, and the goddess Thetis bathed her son Achilles in this river, holding him for heel, giving him immortality.
The river is considered a masterpiece of nature with a breathtaking gorge scenery, bright blue clear waters and beautiful surrounding with rich vegetation.
The water though is freezing cold even during the summer but also refreshing. You can easily walk the gorge and swim in some deep spots.
It is still one of the least known places in Epirus thus it retains its unspoiled natural beauty and secret energy.
There are plenty of activities such as rafting, canoeing, horse riding, mountain biking, fishing, but above all where you can enjoy the beautiful nature and explore it through an organized trekking.
Close to the river is the watermill of Souli. A beautiful place you should not miss the chance walking around it.
