- The June 2024 Balance Update was released on the 17th of June and, despite having some positive aspects to it, I consider it to be a SCAM.
Nerfing heroes like this isn't anything new for SG, but doing it in a way where it ruins multiple heroes (that were around for quite some time and are not the most OP heroes nor mechanics around) by basically destroying a game mechanic is just too much. This whole change feels like a huge scam at the players' expense.
In this video I presented my easy solution for this issue and I sincerely hope that our voices get heard.

8:48 Vivica overwrites the effect with her defense up before cleansing, so with the new changes, she can't activate the damage.
As for my opinion on the change, I'd also say the damage should still trigger from a "normal" effect (e.g. Starwalker and Morel). Alternatively, just don't change anything, they don't care about game balance anyway, it's just god forbid anyone might actually be satisfied with a fast damage stack.

Yeah I agree, that's why this change came as a shock to me and probably the majority of players
I have pepperflame..starwalker x 2 , Erlang Shen, Grimsteel .. feel my pain lol
Especially Erlang Shen since is being passed by with the power creep.. so that secondary effect at least kept him slightly relevant ..now he's barely if that usable

@Ntrivun_EP yeah ..and what sucks is that I got pepperflame last month and the 2nd Starwalker. Got grimsteel a few weeks ago so atleast I'll level him slowly ..I think he can still play..mostly in rush.
I feel your pain, my Starwalker was just getting ready for battle when the update went live (a day or two before that I gave him LB2). They are all still usable, but definitely just a shell od what they used to be

Hi, just saying that if they forgot to include tremor on this non self triguering nerf. I believe that pepper needed a nerf, but not on all aspects of her special skill. And got her fully maxed. Self triguering gone is ok for me, but it should be available if you overwrite it with another hero special - the game always benfited synergies and it should keep doing it in my ideia.
I haven't thought about Tremor before, but I think there is a slight difference in the way he's coded. If you fire him twice in a row, does it activate the damage?

@@Ntrivun_EP yes it does. Yesterday I fought one that was sided by Ludwig and once Ludwig fired tremor just wiped out my team in a few turns.

AEON GAMING nailed 5 reason people are pissed at the game to the T in.his latest video. But even if he's a tester SG/Zyga don't care and listen to them..they listen to 🤑 only..

I agree with you, except I think the secondary should not proc even if a different hero cast the same defense down with the same secondary text (excluding damage amount). In other words a defense down with no secondary or defense up should proc the secondary.
Can you please give an example? Because I'm not completely sure what you mean. It is not so easy to put in words

Starwalker special: all enemies get minus 35% defense for 3 turns. If the effect is removed before the duration ends, the target with the effect suffers 774 damage.
Let's call this Defense Down Damage When Removed (DDWR).
I'm saying no other DDWR should trigger the secondary damage, 774 in Starwalker case, under any circumstance. Not a another Starwalker, or Pepperflame for example.
Cleansing of course should and does trigger DDWR secondary damage, but this should not be the sole trigger. See Ana-Belle, Rigard, etc.
Vivica casting defense up should trigger DDWR secondary damage. After all the special DDWR is removed and replaced with defense up.
Kiril costume casting defense down should trigger DDWR secondary damage. DDWR is removed and replaced with a different defense down.
Yes, this is exactly what I was trying to suggest as my solution. Perhaps it was a bit unclear, because it's difficult to explain, at least it was for me. This should be a good compromise IMHO

I think they are mainly too strong because of the legendary troops
Hard disagree here. Toons can be annoying, but none of them ever made it into any meta offense or defense teams because their specials just don't do enough. Like, Pophit for example just does a lot more than Toon Magni. The closest any Toon hero ever came to the meta is Toon Vivica as a Rush tank, but if you adjust your playstyle, she becomes relatively easy as well.

It honestly depends on the opponents, but other heroes are reaching 3k HP now no problem (new costumes help), with the correct legendary troop. The top of the leaderboard is filled with W3K costumes nowadays...
Any decently new 5* hitter with a 5* troop has 3000 health and can one-shot weaker heroes. Pophit almost one-shots half a team of heroes without 5* troops. And a hero that has 3000 health themselves (Toons are usually closer to 4000 with LB2 and a 5* troop btw) doesn't get one-shot by one special from a Toon.
I'm currently in charge of the defenses for my alliance and therefore have collected some data on how the defenses performed... Pretty much all Toon defenses I've tried did worse than the meta defenses.
I 2lb pophit and built a couple teams around the secondary strategy, I feel the annoyance. But hey an epic tome of experience should make up for it right?
I think it's basically a bargain at this point. Do you even know how hard it is to acquire one of those? 😅
