I especially appreciate your third segment on footwork. I've done martial arts on and off for a good portion of my life, but since studying Wing Chun with a sifu who is extremely exacting of our footwork and showing how important it is in practical situations, I've been far more mindful of it now than I've been in the past. I think what I appreciate the most about Irish stick is that the techniques (both Antrim and Doyle) are kept simple in structure and execution. You can learn the basics easily, and with practice can be competent in using the stick in a relatively short time.
Yes like any "simple" art it is in that portion that you develop the art. Boxing is a good example of it only a handful of movements with infinite possibilites.
Just starting out. Made my Shillelagh from a pick handle and I'm making a standing striking dummy. I see the value in having a hanging dummy and will make one as well. Video classes will be in my future and these training tools will always be great for practice. Thank you so much for your instruction.
Rambling kern was incredible helpful I don't has a sparing partner I practice nunchuku I'm having a Guinness while watching I also has a African sjambok of 🍀👍🇬🇧🐾🦊
Haha, I am disabled and although i do like to watch these video's though to be honest although i once worked in the North sea for 10 years i would struggle to knock sweets out of a pinyata { wrong spelling } but i think you get the picture. Haha... Enjoy these vids though.
@@BrentTheGent1 I have trained and fought alongside many people with various disabilities not all techniques will work but finding a coach who can help adapt things to you can pay off big time.
the year is 2025. I am gunned down by automated police droids after attempting to stick fight them, in response to them trying to arrest me for having under 50k in my bank account.

I am delighted I can be of help. Just be careful that the stick is not too heavy starting out. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
