Lemmy is one of the only rock musicians who, throughout his entire career never stopped using drugs or drinking, never went sober. Ever. It eventually killed him, but he never stopped. It's well documented that he just kept going and going with the drugs and alcohol. Wild guy.
Like... If you look at the wild stories of a lot of other rock bands, take GnR as an example, they did tons of drugs and drank pools of alcohol daily, but they're basically ALL sober now and don't do any of that anymore. Eric Clapton went to rehab for alcohol addiction too. Lots of rock musicians have stories of going sober when they realized it was killing them. Not Lemmy. Lemmy just kept going until the day he died.

In those six months my brother bought freshly released Bon Jovi's "Slippery when wet" cassette. They did that back in the day because there was no internet. Lol. Song that was on it was “Cradle to the Grave”. I was hooked. Great song by the way! Motorhead was a song Lemmy recorded with his previous band Hawkwind. Hawkwind kicked Lemmy out and went for a more progrock rather than speed rock direction- so Lemmy took his name and concept along to the new band, "Motorhead" was a street name for a speed freak, the band was fueled on amphetemine and Jack Daniels. Check out The Pirates live at Dingwalls if you like this type of rock. ruclips.net/video/4kWR5p4T4gA/видео.html

FYI, Motorhead is a British slang term for a meth (speed) head so it kind of makes sense that the music is so fast.

I don't know if you noticed but Lemmy sings head up into the mic almost to prove he doesn't have to look at his guitar to play the song. And Lemmy has a raspy voice even when not singing.

Motorhead is called Motorhead bcs this was nickmane Lemmys (singer/bassist) band gave him for doing speed, and he lived fast pace crazy life. That fast pace was also idea behinde Motorhead. Their music really reflect their name. Bcs of that Motorhead was also named as song (btw rock bands often name their songs same as name of the band, sometimes that is also name of the album (check aomg Pennywise, by band Pennywise from album Pennywise, its sick song))
Also Motorhead sound really rich with their instruments despite being 3-piece, since Lemmy played his bass more with mentallyti of second guitarist than bassist, so he often played chords and main riffs, while Fast Eddie played solo. And Philthy animal is just crazy, and probaly on speed.
Also their somg was used as wwe intro (king of kings)
Edit: also enter sandman is NOT their song, but better cover of Metallica song
