4:52 "Pulse" and 49:11 "Mannequin, Made of Glass" (I think shortening the title to just "Mannequin" would probably be better) are my favourites, and are probably the closest sounding to Chino's actual voice, imo. Some of the other songs sound more like Korn instrumentals with a vaguely Chino-sounding voice trying to imitate Jonathan Davis, while some others have choruses that sound like a generic one-off nu metal or rock band from the 90s/2000s that would pop on the radio/TV -- Y'know, those bands that would release that one song that you'd hear everywhere, and then you'd never hear anything from them again lol. Overall this was a very interesting ride to sit through!
Honestly I don't care what anyone says about AI I think it's good to use as a base for Creative projects and then the human element can take over and build on that and refine it into something a lot better but at the same time it's also interesting to see what AI can do on its own. Also I'm not exactly sure if Polaroid actually sounds like the real Deftones or not but damn that's a pretty good song!
I think it'll probably end up being used like any other tool to help the process instead of being a threat to the work of an artist, since it needs samples to work. At least for anyone with a demanding ear you'll always make out the subtleties of human sensitivity in terms of musical content, lyrics, or even production-wise. I agree Polaroid sounds pretty good (simple song but not too basic), you'd need to work on it though... That's what I hear for some of this stuff, raw material at best, but interesting ideas (the most interesting ones for me being Collide, far above the rest with Cry Of Fear even though some things don't quiet work, and Mannequin).
Sometimes the singing is too melodic to be chino or is way too calm, if you notice, even in their calm songs he often screams and likes to sing unexpected notes. I think that Pulse sounds the most like a Deftones song
In general, the idea may not be bad, but on the other hand it's not right. You can try to make the sound similar to Eros. At the moment I'm doing another album “Ai Korn”, but in the future I'll definitely come back to Deftones (I did a new voice model for nothing)))
