When I read comments I always find people who hardly understand poetry they appreciate him too much. They also compare them with Ghalib but they hardly know Ghalib is versatile poet where Jaun eliya mostly focus on sadness and always talk about hardness of love.
I think new generation wants poetry about separation and hardship of love and which to understand that's why new generation like Jaun eliya so much otherwise there so many great poets are there

I don't agree with u Hameedur....you are totally incorrect.......well, i know half of the people don't understand the poetries..but the rest half do....and we all know very well that, there are many great poets out there...we respect them all, love them all..but each poet has a speciality...and jaun's uniqueness was the way he recited his poetries, his each word was filled with emotions....and not every poet can do that..aur rahi baat ghalib sahab ki, toh voh apni jagah mahaan hai aur jaun sahab apni jagah...pasand pasand ki baat hai janaab..!
And new generation doesn't want poetries on sadness, or hardships of love....as i mentioned...so please eradicate this misunderstanding from your mind..and not just new generation, the old generation likes him too..its just that he was underrated that time and as his daughter mentioned..har poet ki ehmeeyat uski maut ke baad badhti jaati hai...and being poet myself, please don't insult any poet saying what you said.

Jaun bhai hai has different sides, some people love him to the maximum of their life... Yet some people make jokes about him. On my part Jaun Elia was a great poet.
