I think it would be safer to learn how everything works before you start driving. I drive the 1.5 dci dynamique . It’s a great driving car with decent acceleration. I chipped the engine recently and it’s driving even better. My car only had 48 000 miles on it and it only cost £2800 to buy. I have added extras to my car new wheels etc . I have been driving renault vehicles for over 25 years. I have only broken down once in a renault in all that time. The k type dci engine. Is the most reliable engine they have built. Diesel is the only clio any good for long commutes.

Thanks for this - really helpful. I've been driving a Vauxhall Astra which I find incredibly uncomfortable due to the low seat position. I'm looking at a 2011 1.2 petrol clio. Would you say the driving position is relatively high/comfortable? I'm 5'6" and I'm guessing you're quite a bit taller but would be interested in your thoughts. Thanks!

Hi Evey, thank you for watching. I'm 5ft11, and the driving position, for me, is a little too high and the steering wheel angle feels a bit awkward. But, it's all personal taste, I just prefer sitting a bit lower in the car, rather than feeling I'm sitting on it

Would you recommend the 2011 version for a first car?

Apologies for the delay, I didn't get the notification. Yes I would, it's a very easy and light car to drive

Right what you should have said in the title of the video: How a middle aged man figure out a French car
