Actually "Stupeflip Vite" is a french song about one of best french band from these last ten years, it may not be classical sophisticated music but it's enough thought to be excellent and to permit you to discover their album again at each listening. I'm glad they make me discover this track just by using a sample, so stop being so grumpy and open your mind, music is for everybody and to discover new things by different mean than the usual ones is part of the magic of this art ! Love you lapin !
When this opera "Der Freischütz" of Karl Maria von Weber was performed, a very attentive and curious young musician was among the public: he learned every single tune and structure of this magnificent masterpiece of the German repertoire. His name was ... Richard Wagner ...
And Wagner recalled the opening horn theme of this overture in the beginning part of the Walhalla theme in the Ring of Nibelungs... at least that's my theory...
Que interesante Wagner tenia 9 anos y se dedico a escuchar muchas veces a esta overtura hasta tomar lecciones de piano, cuando murio Weber decidio dedicarse a la Musica de lleno. Lo cierto es que se puede notar su influencia.
im a total metalhead/tecno fiend. still i can fully appreciate the beauty and grace of this. honestly i wish more people would pay more attention to this. thier loss unfortunatly
It really is. No one, really no one got this music like Kleiber did. I have never found anyone. No other recording, no live performance I attended. They all fall incredibly short. Kind of a constant dissapointment, because I keep waiting for the one that finally cracks Kleiber's secret and manages to at least be on his level. But no... no one so far did.
For those who love this---and young Carlos is indeed mesmerizing--you need to listen to an old scratchy recording posted recently of his father, Erich, conducting this. The opening is even more mesmerizing! And I am, first and foremost, the most ardent Carlos fan. I also suggest his father's Schubert 3rd Symphony performance which, dare I say, is better than the son? Is it any wonder the son had such trepidations and self-conscious concerns? Yet he overcame them and became the even greater artist.

This is a really good performance, i enjoyed it while working on something else and I didn't even realize I was listening properly to it instead of working :D
@@penmerch2804 honestly, I get it was a live performance and things happen but dang. It's a real pleasure to watch Carlos Kleiber conduct this. It's not just that he obviously loves the music (as you can tell from his face, e.g., 8:36); he actually sees more in it than I ever did. I always thought this whole opera was basically a pile of corny nonsense, but Kleiber makes the overture a joy to hear. The rests alone are dramatic. Sad that the horns marred it at 1:10, 1:19, etc.
Kleiber's animation and evident joy during this performance are a wonder. I regret that the video ended before we could see his face as he turned to the audience after the end of the music. In the orchestra I could count only one woman (c 5:06 - 5:50) most seemed to be middle aged men. It is only right that nowadays (2020) orchestras contain many women. Some are very beautiful. In the words of Sir Kenneth Clark (in another context) "what could be more delightful" that to hear and see beautiful music played (or sung) by a beautiful woman?
The first time, when he was only a kid, that Wagner listened to this piece, was then when he decided that one day he would like to be a composer...and so,we all know the end of it...Wagner is one of the greatest composers, ever.
10 minutes out of time and space. Those old and quite obtuse players (see the rehearsal) playing like young and vigorous teenagers just because of a beautiful visionary conducting them.
