heavenleigh shian neither can I, I am currently in my second draft stage of my novella “From the Mind of a Time Traveller”. I just can’t wait to have as a real book!
This is the moment I'm waiting for. I'm in developmental edits at the moment so it's still a long way off but completing the first draft makes it feel so much closer.
I just binged watched all your videos and I have to say your reaction to seeing your book was so priceless. Can I just add that your book cover is beautiful and I wish I was creative enough to make mine too. You should be proud. Well done and all the best with your book 🙂
Wynter Cannatelli aww that's great. I'll probably have to find someone to help make mine or attempt to do it myself. But either way I'm excited. I can't wait to hold my book too 🙂
There are a TON of useful resources out there, I got a lot of ideas from other books, and the final product was definitely not my first version. (I've probably mocked up a dozen different covers for TAB, haha.) When it comes down to it, though, I'm a big believer in less is more; sometimes the simplest cover with a strong central image is the best. Good luck Joanny, and keep going!

Awesome job! I have so much respect for authors that write novels! That is a lot of work. Your book looks wonderful. Good luck with launch. I just posted my 1st Createspace unboxing too :)
I’ve been putting off properly organising my collection and taking the steps to possibly publish them myself and after luckily coming across your videos I’ve binge watched them all and you have so much insight on what to expect and kept it real with how much work goes into it making your dream come true. Thank you so much and a HUGE congratulations are in order 🙏🏾👏🏾🥳💙

I love the cover. What was your total word count for your story? I'm curious because I'm trying to get a good idea of how thick my book will end up when I print it. I know ours may not be the same, I'm just trying to compare. I'm still in the drafting phase but I'm really curious about this.

Did you upload your word document and edit within create space... or did you have to upload your document on template software before uploading it to create space. Your book looks great, Congrats! :)
I did all of my editing in word (page formatting, chapter sections etc) and just had to export it as a PDF file to upload to Createspace. They're pretty good at outlining what exactly you need to do to a document before they can take it and convert it into a book, so definitely check out their site if you're unsure!
Hi, I just wanted to ask, what is the whole deal with the photo used for the cover? Are we allowed to use photos from the internet or not? I'm currently writing my first novel in a series which is KILLING ME (but I love it) and I wanted to ultimately create like a draft proof copy just for myself in the form of a book after I get through the editing stages. I already made myself a cover but I had used Photoshop and internet photos so I was just asking about that.
Basically, any photo you don't take/make yourself is under copyright by the person who did take/make it. So if you use a picture that belongs to someone else without permission, or if it's not licensed as free for commercial use, it's stealing. !Unless! you're making something that you don't intend to sell or reproduce. The photos I use are stock images from sites that have free for commercial pictures, or I make them from scratch all by myself. Same thing goes for fonts, as well. Hope this helps!
I’m currently writing my very first novel right now, and I just written 100 pages since I began writing my book Nothing But The Truth in August 2022. I am very proud of the hard work and dedication I put into this, and I am proud of you as well. Congratulations on your book, and I can’t wait for me to inbox my very own debut novel! It’s got to be the best feeling ever!!!🥹❤️💪🏼👏🏻📄📚
By writing down my own words and putting them into a "fixed" form, the material is copyrighted automatically by me. This means that (legally in the U.S. anyway) there's no requirement to have a piece of paper drawn up to say I have claims to my book. Hope this helps!
I used Word, so unfortunately it wasn't, haha. I'd check out Google Docs, which I'm pretty sure is free, though it's not the best for formatting large documents and can be somewhat limiting!
In Microsoft Word. I watched a lot of RUclips videos about it, and it was a lot of messing around with getting things just how I liked them! (It helped to sort of model the look I wanted after other books I liked the interior of)
does Createspace own any rights to your book? Say someone wants to make a movie out of your book do they own any rights to it? also do they have non exclusivity? Meaning if a big house publisher now wants to pick up your book or sequel are you able to go with them?
Since I self-published I just did the publishing process through Createspace, which was an Amazon company. Now they've moved to Kindle Direct Publishing, which is basically the same thing. Either way, you do everything on your own!

I've written a book trilogy called The Refuge Conquest and I get your feeling.
Kind of a funny video with your initial reaction, but the way it goes when seeing your own book for the first time in print. :)
did you pay creatspace to publish your book?
No we don't have to pay to get out book publish. But when someone buys your book from Amazon you will only get 40% of earing.
If you printed it yourself and sold the books through shops you would lose money on each book.
that came out amazing

Did you use CS’s free ISBN or did you purchase your own?
I decided to go with a free one after reading up on the differences!
I used Createspace's since their free one better suited my needs!

rupi kaur easily transferred to a big name publisher with no problems with her book milk and honey
Can you change the color of the pages ?
The only two options Createspace (or KDP as they just merged) are cream and white pages!
What program do you use to format and add flowers?
I use Gimp! It's like a free version of Photoshop - there's a timelapse of me creating the cover on my channel :)
Wynter Cannatelli thanks for responding! I’ll check out your video. Your book looks great btw :)
