That Cordura duck is insane - absolutely refuses to wear out no matter what level of abuse it gets. If you need a jacket or pants that would survive the apocalypse, look no further.
Two years ago, I searched for the warmest Carhartt coat and ended up with a Yukon extreme coat that still looks like the day I bought. For Southern Illinois it might be too warm though!
Duck canvas is a fantastic material and Carhartt has made good use of it for a long time. Thanks for the breakdown of the many types used over the years. Some of those I remember and some I didn’t.
Carl I've always worn a carhartt to work. This year a few months ago actually I got the super dux tech jacket I love love that jacket. It's so comfortable and light and warm I really couldn't believe something so light could be that warm. I'll still wear one of my duck canvas coats around the house or out In the yard, that super dux is awesome and you'd love that tech jacket to. It's cut alittle longer in the butt. Great video as always you covered them all!
Aarrggg- you actually show my 0J0140-M!! I have the J140 made in mexico date 0710, wanted a larger size. I got this 0j0140-M that I suggest is lighter materials. Carhartt says its the same. But you show and talk about it. It is stout! Thanks .
I'll say this for the Rugged Flex: I do sawyer work in a pair of Rugged Flex pants, and they're dense enough that blackberry canes don't snag them, and briars don't attach. I walk right through every kind of thorn in our Maine woods, secure in knowing that I won't be poked.
Some of the B01 double knee pants and the active jackets are still made in USA. I just got 2 pair of the pants last year and they were both tagged USA.
I got a Yukon extreme coat a couple years ago when I searched for the warmest Carhartt coat and I’ve had it for two years and it looks like the day I bought it
The Super Dux has really grown on me. 97% nylon, 3% spandex. Haven’t had great luck with the durable waterproof coating but it’s a warm and durable jacket.
Is the FR Duck the same as Firm Duck for all intents and purposes? I know there's FR Quick Duck (as you mentioned) but our PPE supplier lists FR Duck on some and Quick Duck on others, and there's a definite difference between them.

It’s ridiculously tough

Appreciate that! I'm always learning new things about Carhartt too.
I woke up and just wondered about Carhartt duck materials, so thanks for the video
Haha I got you covered!
Thanks for all the hard work on these matters as usual. I wasn't even aware of some of these.
Awesome review on the carhartt’s! Hence why you’re the best!
You’re too kind! Thanks for watching!
Bro they need a link to this video on their website cause they really don’t make it easy to figure out what you want
You're right, it's a bit of a pain!

Just bought a new unlined rugged flex detroit. Loving it for here in FL. Thanks for your help in decision.
Was literally looking for a video like this last night

Another great video, thanks for the lesson Carl
I wish I could buy Carhartt gear. But I try and support US made products. Love the videos.

@@redmond9653 Yes. I also bought a pair of those pants last year. Love them!

Awesome video! Next year i'm probably going to trade school to become a electrician
This is a good video. Good information without preamble.
I got a Yukon extreme coat a couple years ago when I searched for the warmest Carhartt coat and I’ve had it for two years and it looks like the day I bought it
Beautifully done and very informative. Salute sir
I Appreciate the kind words!
@@CarlMurawski fairly new to the channel but loving all your content
I recently discovered your channel and am really liking it, do you have plans to do a work shorts video with summer right around the corner?
I didn't know that Carhartt kept ducks, let alone that they all had backstories that needed explaining, but here we are.
The Super Dux has really grown on me. 97% nylon, 3% spandex. Haven’t had great luck with the durable waterproof coating but it’s a warm and durable jacket.
I wish Carhartt would bring back the Detroit J97 jacket that was made here in the US. There is a lot of pent up demand for something like this.

Hey carl u gon do the only keeping 5 work jackets i really liked the other videos keepin 5
I think I will!
You may have said this in the video but which is the lightest spring wear jacket?
Do they not make single knee pants in firm duck anymore? I can't find it on their website.
Could you tell me what model you wear at the begging of the video
Bring back Quick Duck
First!
