(He says under his breath as he awaits his inevitable demise) He goes and lies down on his "bed covered with filth" next to his "dried up commode" to hear the 3-minute warning with no further countdown. He recognizes the presumed time of his end and makes his peace with this and that. But, when the moment comes he experiences a great tremor and a sudden darkness. Unmercifully, he is unscathed aside from the ringing in his ears. He feels through the darkness to find that the previously locked door has now been violently swelled inward. Retaining the rubble from the above lab's self-destruction. ".....Well, shit....."
Not sure if I'm the only one but I feel bad for Rebecca's story during the arkley incident. Her first mission as a rookie and she already lost her team but managed to survive and out live them somehow.
I agree, her story is one of the saddest. My only issue with her story arc doesn’t even stem from this game, but RE0 which actually creates plot holes in the remake. One example being she has trouble with 1 Hunter in remake, but not one day before, she’s destroying hunters left right and centre and even took out a tyrant 🤔 Sorry, I know that was a random rant, but zero ruined that scene for me forever now 😭😂
It's really awkward how far they took things with the newer Resident Evil games. These simple quiet endings actually highlight the fact that there were just friggin zombies and mutated animals wandering about near a populated area, and no one had a clue. No bio powers, no existential plot twists. Just a horrific realization of what they've experienced as they head home.

I think it’s because neither Jills/ Chris’ story is fully cannon, but instead it’s a mix of both stories occurring in tangent with each other (long story short, neither character was locked up)

For anybody curious about the endings with zombie eyes If Rebecca or Barry (respective of Chris and Jill playthroughs) die, then where they die in the story determines which bad ending you get. If they die on the helipad by the Tyrant then their body is destroyed in the explosion. However, if Rebecca or Barry die earlier (by Lisa for Barry or to a hunter for Rebecca) then you get the zombie eye, implying that Barry/Rebecca became a zombie
That's not a zombie eye, it's the *TYRANT'S* eye. This is confirmed by both the heartbeat and the bad endings in the original games. 😉 In the bad endings of the original game, you hear the Tyrant's footsteps and actually see his shadow in the forest after the helicopter takes off.

I agree some people are saying Carlos and Jill are a better relationship but I always felt she was closer to Chris seeing as they were teammates in STARS before the Arkley Murders, They saved each other in the Lab, and for the most part stayed close ever since.

In the book its explained that the self destruct system was a massive tank of flammable gas that when activated spread all over the mansion and compound and when detonated would destroy everything on the surface as well as the lab, firstly to kill anybody or anything in the compound and second to destroy any evidence that could be recovered.
While we never see it, the canonical ending of Resident Evil is that Barry, Chris, Jill, and Rebecca all survive and things like Wesker dying, Brad is PŪS, and the mansion blows up stay the same. Though the 7 alternate and non-canon endings are- 1. Chris survives on his own 2. Jill survives on her own 3. Chris and Jill both survive 4. Chris and Rebecca survive 5. Chris, Jill, and Rebecca survive 6. Jill and Barry survive 7. Jill, Barry and Chris survive
Actually, the rocket launcher was already in the helicopter before Alpha Team left Raccoon City. Basically when Alpha team got ready to head out to find Bravo team, Barry had a bad feeling about the whole mess. He essentially broke into the weapons locker and smuggled the rocket launcher onto the helicopter. He told Brad not to tell anyone the rocket launcher was there, because he would have gotten into serious trouble if it was discovered. As for what was Brad doing the entire game, he spent all night flying around looking for the team. By the end of the game he’s almost out of fuel, and would have been forced to abandon everyone permanently had he not seen the flare signal.
I just finished this game 2 minutes ago. I just redid it straight after I had gotten the bad ending where I had only saved Chris and the tyrant was still alive. But since when you play as Jill, you don’t encounter Rebecca, so does that mean that Rebecca dies when you play as Jill? This was a really fun game. I think I might play again as Chris but this was really hard.
I had to save both Chris and Barry in my first playthrough to the point I willingly reset back to the last save everytime I died or blundered But it was worth it for stars

For my playthrough as Jill I got Chris and Barry to live and got the best ending but as for Chris I unfortunately forgot about Rebecca because I didn’t know she wouldn’t come back so once I beat the game as Chris I went into a previous save file I had to save her but I was too late. I feel so bad that I left Rebecca to die.
Watching here because my Steam Deck won't play most cutscenes and will just show me a no signal video but with the audio on, and apparently I'm not the only one with this experience 😢

I always thought if RE1 got remade again an easy way to explain it could be have the other ally character share a cell with the other player character. So to add to your story, maybe after Barry helps secure Jill he has second thoughts about helping Wesker. So Wesker locks him in with Jill. As for Rebecca....maybe Wesker intercepts her at the end of Zero while she's making her way to the mansion and captures her? And when Chris is captured he's in the same cell?

Small variations in the gameplay change the ending. Chris can be left, Barry can get killed by Lisa even if you do give him his gun back, Wesker can get killed by Lisa, completely bypassing the Tyrant boss, Rebecca can die, as can Jill. Depending on what combination of these you got depends on your ending variant

I find it funny how the cannon ending is suppose to be Chris, Jill, Rebecca, and Barry all escaping on the helicopter together as the mansion explodes yet in both the original and remake there is no way to get that ending as if you play as Chris, Barry just up and disappears and never shows back up, and if you play as jill, Rebecca practically doesn’t exist as she’s never brought up once in Jill’s story. Seriously if we ever get another remake of RE1 we need it to have the cannon ending as a ending to get.

But that wouldn’t make sense either the canon ending of the RE 1 and ofc I doesn’t make sense with Jill being in RE3 living in racoon city and Wesker taking over her after it’s ending and Chris never knowing Jill was still alive and in racoon city.
Yeah you need a headset to talk to each other in a helicopter. Even then you would have to raise your voice. No way would you be able to have a light conversation like they are doing. Chris is just imagining this as he lays bleeding to death from the first dog that broke through that window.

@@ramirez4630 that’s because in a prequel dlc of 5 jill tackles wesker out of a window and down a cliff during a fight, leaving Chris to think she died when she did that. Also I think you got autocorrect as it’s raccoon city not ración city

Can you answer and clear some things for me? I’m playing resident 5 and Chris just said that he thought Jill was dead. But that wouldn’t make sense either the canon ending of the RE 1 and ofc I doesn’t make sense with Jill being in RE3 living in racoon city and Wesker taking over her after it’s ending and Chris never knowing Jill was still alive and in racoon city.

Yeah you need a headset to talk to each other in a helicopter. Even then you would have to raise your voice. No way would you be able to have a light conversation like they are doing. Chris is just imagining this as he lays bleeding to death from the first dog that broke through that window.
