Bro I don't know about your school citeria but wht I know is that in my frnd's school there are 6 subjects ( IP optional) and If in case u fail in any one subject out of those main 5 subjects then the marks of ur optinal will be used in order to make u pass . And if u r not fail in any single subject then only ur 5 subjects marks will be added on ir marksheet. All the best dude👍
There's nothing like top 5 you have to pass in all your exams it's like If you have IT then yeah that's your optional subject and if you score less in maths then your marks of IT will be added but in rest of the subjects you will have to pass
