I was a dedicated 80s rock chick...then one day my friend had a country station on at work and they introduced this as Reba's newest song...and just like that I was country and never looked back
How he loves your old guitar, yeah he's taught himself to play. He melts my heart, tells me he loves me everyday. And cracks a joke at the perfect time, makes me laugh when I wanna cry. That boy is EVERYTHING to me...he gets that from you! Gosh I wish you could hear him play, you'd be so proud. We miss you more everyday, my darling. RIP

Very underrated song in my opinion! I loved this one from the first time I heard it. Love this performance & I LOVE seeing Linda Davis back there! Thanks for sharing!!
I love watching her perform live. and she gets me everytime. her performance s and her music really touch me. she's amazing !!!! >< i'm in tear right now
omg i'm crying !!!!!!!! so sad and beautiful !!!! love the oufit the hair the make up, but most the performance , wow you just can feel the pain and the love !!! love her !!
Reba is the total spirit of a natural, heartfelt and unpretentious being. I never liked "Country", yet she speaks to the simpler, purer aspects of my being.
reba is an amazing singer and a beautiful person! she has such a pure and realy voice! she is to country as aretha franklin is to coul! she is a goddess of country music!
I absolutely love this song, it "hits home" too much actually... I can NEVER MAKE IT THROUGH without crying... gotta love Reba for driving it "home" sometimes, she is Great though... love her singing, her songs...
Well, if you go by the story in the music video, she is singing to her dead husband (which you don't realize he is dead until the end of the song). If you listen to the lyrics, it could be a woman talking about an ex-husband that is out of her and her son's life, but obviously it has more impact if it's a husband/father that died and the wife and son are missing him. BEAUTIFUL performance.
Omg I'm like crying into my oatmeal right now. This song is so amazing but sad. Probably shouldn't listen to it when I'm ready to go to work and have my makeup on lol
Obviously, Reba really likes Linda's voice because she had her as her backup singer on tour several times and recorded the duet Does He Love You with her. (Also the song Face To Face which is on another of Reba's albums - love it.) Their voices sound wonderful together.
Why? My guess - Reba asked her. Linda sings harmony on the album this is from (Room to Breathe) - probably on this song. I've seen an old interview where Linda said that if Reba asked her, she'd always try to be there to help her out because they are friends and she had done a lot for her. I love this song and this performance. Just beautiful.
She always sings with such feeling, you could tell at the very end, she felt the sadness of the song .

Reba is timeless. Such an amazing artist. Love the mandolin and guitar work.
Sounds just the record, if not better. You don't get too many of those nowadays. Wonderful lady, keep it up my queen!

It's about her husbands death and how her son is just like him... watch the music video!!!
does anybody actually know the story behind this song? I've always wondered...
Am I the only
She was getting chocked up
She could just as well be singing this song about her ex-husband Narvel Blackstock and their son Shelby.
