    This is one of the most inspired' works ever written by the Young Mozart, togrther with his string quintet K; 174 in the chamber music domain. The architecture is formally perfect, and the musical interst never weakens in such artefacts as transitions, etc. This is pure crystal work.

    When I'm 58 years old I wonder if I will also be referred to as 'young', as Claudio is here! BTW this concert took place at the Smetana Hall, Prague, 1/5/1991.

Grazie

    Magnificent performance. Rich, powerful and dynamic. My favorite part is Allegro moderato. The intensity was so satisfying. It's also ludicrous to think this complex symphony was written by a 18 years-old. Also, at the age 18, he already wrote 29 symphonies. Talent doesn't wait for age.

    La alegría genuina de Mozart, irrepetible, y que hacia el final va perdiendo en el K. 593, 516 y el K. 622, entre otras (El Kyrie de la Gran misa en do menor). Por fortuna prima esa su alegría del joven de 18 años.

      @@user-jl1yq4cz6y True, yes! In a way, the Berlin Philharmonic is overrated, anyway. Not that they are a bad orchestra or something. Of course, they are all great musicians - but over the last 30 years, so many great orchestras made so many great recordings and gave so many great concerts ... and totally outshined the BPO under Abbado, let alone Rattle, let alone Petrenko today.

    • @jasonhurd4379
      @jasonhurd4379 3 года назад +4

      @@llamadeusmozart Wrong. Abbado was great from the very beginning. His 1970s cycle of Verdi operas from La Scala is the stuff of legend, and his 1980s live Beethoven symphony cycle from Vienna is noteworthy for its unforced beauty and its warm humanity. His studio Zauberflöte with Orchestra Mozart is in a 3-way tie with the studio sets conducted by Arnold Östman and Armin Jordan for the title of greatest Zauberflöte recording. And his 1984 film of Rossini's La cenerentola, starring Frederica von Stade, is perfectly conducted. Yes, Abbado has always been great.
