Yes girl, same!! I think it’s because I see influencers with my similar skin tone and I get the foundation shade they use but it always ends up being too dark for me 😫 so this time I’m just trusting my own judgment lol

I just got Stromboli yesterday and it is literally the first time in my life where foundation has matched my skin tone 😭 Most warm foundation in the drugstore is either orange or brown undertones, and I am distinctly yellow 😅 at this point, I just don't plan to go back, I'm absolutely in love with this foundation, so Nars can take this extra $20-$30 whenever TF they want 😂 I feel like I use so little foundation, half a pump to a pump on the back of my hand, so it will probably last longer than any foundation!

Thank you babe! I wish you could tell you but I haven’t used the Mac foundation since almost 10 years ago. I was NC30 but I’m pretty sure I was not matched correctly. I’ll definitely need to go into the store and see what my shade is currently. I’ll keep you updated 🙏🏼💖

Wow! That disappeared into your skin! I was looking at the shade M1 Punjab because it claims a golden undertone but the model is much lighter than me and Stromboli looks very yellow and dark. Santa Fe might be perfect! The description says neutral peach and I'm no peach but I can run neutral. So confusing!

Why get a second foundation that's a totally different undertone than your 1st shade? I also matched perfectly with Santa Fe, but since I knew the next peach under tone Sahel was just a tad bit darker I went for M5 which has a warmer peach undertone, to have as my summer shade once I'm tanner. Never pick the next shade up when it's a totally different undertone. Always go a shade or 2 up from your normal shade, depending on how you tan. Make sure to stay in your same undertone even if the next one is 4 shades over. As long as it's the next one with your same undertone, you'll be just fine.

In all honesty, it’s because I compare my skin tone to influencers that seem to have my same skin tone, however, that’s not the case because most influencers end up tanning and end up matching to their tan shade. On the plus side, I don’t mind buying a wrong shade that doesn’t match me personally because it will always come in handy for friends or family that want me to do their makeup😊 appreciate the advice 💖
