Maybe this is not applicable, but I have been sensitive to milk for a while now - and pork and chicken and eggs. . everything we produce! This year I decided to do carnivore and I have been able to add all that back in and it was actually the sourdough and veggies that was making me sick. If I stick to carnivore I can have homemade ice cream, butter, dairy and all meat proteins now. Easier for me to produce meat than anything else as I have grass :)
I get what you are saying, for healing it is great. After healing continue to check labs to avoid deficiencies as in all extreme styles of nutrition we eventually have deficiencies, it just happens from error. I am not advocating at all one way or another, but grains and it depends on organic, nongmo, sprouting and not mixing it with other animal proteins is criticism or enzymes get messed up fermenting our gut. The same with veggies. Not all veggies are created equal either. Today all food is polluted as our earth is polluted, eating animals ends up as a filter for us meat eaters until the animals get sick, which will eventually happen as our world gets sicker. I learned all of this from investigative research rescuing dogs and my family, every time we made a change we were better but over time other things occurred so track yourself and the whole lifestyle as improvement is always seen within a day or 2 even if tiny, but that would be the path but the enzymes change as we change and then there is genetics, illness and so on, being a scientific foodie helps us use many foods but as we need it and when we need it, seasonally and rotationally. Even the Inuits ate more than just meats and had ways to deal with their depression, their current high rate of depression and alcoholism stems from the sugar and carbs and lack of outdoor activity they and all humans are designed for. Thanks for sharing but track it for the long haul especially during hormonal changes and yes even guys get hormonal changes. prayers to a good journey and so glad to hear that, hope Aust reads it as he usually does and tries it to heal before making big decisions. 🙏
Oh I know how hard this is, we lost our Jersey in the wind storm we had in March. It was a huge sadness for our family especially the 2 littles. I will definitely fill out a form and hope for the best ❤️
I've been watching Homesteady for years. Watched these girls being born through your sharing. Going to miss seeing them. Sending positive thoughts they find the very best home💕
Oh man. I would give my right arm for Honeybee, but after last year's mega drought my pastures just haven't recovered as well naturally as I would have liked:( No new grazers until I do some reseeding this fall. We're an A2/A2, hand-milking family and her experience and temperament would be so great as my son is getting over his fear of big animals. Also, as a rural mail carrier, I do love you, Kay :) Poop and blood and all!
Curious, is it just the dairy or does the meat make you sick too? My husband was recently diagnosed with Alpha Gal, a lone star tick disease that makes you allergic to all mammal products. He asked 3 doctors for a year to test him and got dismissed each time. Finally an allergist agreed but assured him he doesn’t have it. People with it can’t breathe and on and on. We’re in Pennsylvania and the tick isn’t from here. The allergist knew one other person with it and they travelled. Sure enough, he’s positive. Cutting meat helped but he didn’t get true relief until he cut out dairy too. Just a thought in case you, like us and everyone else, have not heard of Alpha Gal.
Hi there! We are a new homestead family of 5 and have been in search of our first mini jersey to complete our farm! If any of your girls are still available, we are extremely interested in giving one a great home. Wishing you guys the best as you navigate this turn in your homestead journey!
I sure wish I had my farm already I would buy all three hands down!! Once I have my farm I want to get mini jerseys. They are beautiful and well behaved!!
My dairy goats milk hasn’t hurt my tummy as much as raw cow milk. Hope you guys get some resolution. I too have a dairy intolerance sometimes with ice cream. Good luck!
Would love to hear why you chose these ones to sell out of the herd? Seems like these are some of your favorites! I’ve missed a few episodes but you still have other dairy cows that you chose to keep, right?
Oh my gosh, I wish this was the right time for us to start cows! I know they’re going to go to amazing homesteads. ❤ I’m so sorry about this decision and your allergy!
I completely understand. good luck on finding good homes for your babies, I would buy one but I think MooMoo (our Jersey milk cow which we have had for about 15 years,) would be highly insulted since she has been the one and the only queen of milk on our property. she rules the roost around here. Patty. 💕💕😊😊
Have you tried goat or sheep milk? If it doesn’t bother you, would you move to either dairy sheep or dairy goats? Long term I’m thinking of trying sheep.
So I’ve been reading a few dairy cow books (keeping a family cow for example) and they warn that dairy bulls are dangerous. How has your experience been with a dairy bull??
Well, they did post a video about borrowing the mini-jersey bull, but my husband is a dairyman, and all the dairy boys say Jersey bulls are the most dangerous bulls out there. We used a sweet Belted Galloway bull to breed our mini. Very low effort. I've heard good things about Milking Devons and Dexters too.
Hi there i need to find out how you guys do with synch 56 I mean that’s very good right because I want to try that please let me know thank you very much
Hey Austin.... I had a virus last fall of some kind... Along with dairy products allergy I think... I'd be sound asleep and I would wake up gasping for air as if somebody was strangling me... And this nurse practitioner told me... That 95% of all people that have COPD... Which is emphysema... Die in their sleep from what I just described. I have emphysema... And allergies... And asthma .But this doctor told me try cutting out dairy... I haven't had any episodes of gasping for air waking up since. You guessed it I cut out dairy. A lot of this cheese... That we eat comes from sheep's milk... I think I can have that. But definitely no milk no cottage cheese no yogurt...
So I would love to have a dairy cow! And especially one of yours!!! But I know I am not ready and live along distance from you. But I look at the application form and it think it is a really goos checklist for anyone that even thinks they are close to getting a cow! I haven't watch all of youe videos yet...I am newer to your channel. HAVE YOU DONE A VIDEO "Think you are ready for a milk cow?" Or goat? I think that is where I am going to start and I don't think I am close to haveing everything for a goat either.
Do you feed your jersey's grain, if you do You might try feeding your cows just grass hay and alfalfa hay and than try drinking the milk?maybe its the grain in the milk
Wish I could ....I have a testimony of how raw cows milk SAVED my stomach. I had problems until I started milking our own cow and my stomach problems disappeared. Sorry about your situation. Will you be doing oat milk?
All the cows we milked are A2, and I still can’t drink it. We learned that there are many different proteins that can cause an allergy, and some people react to the A1 protein. But I seem to react to a different one.
#askhomesteady does this mean no beef either? Consider carnivore healing before ridding them all. See homesteader Justin Rhodes and his carnivore journey, also dr Shawn Baker and many others, if not for you look at keto but talk to the experts after your research.🙏
Just popped in to say I really liked your movie despite the reviews it got. With that said I don't think it was a good idea they made you so dependent on princess peach. Typical liberal Hollywood agenda assuring no strong male characters exist without an even stronger woman to aid them. Anyways, say hi to Luigi for me 🍄
I don't understand why all of a sudden? You have 7 other members in your family that I am sure are milk drinkers? Also what's happened to your new homestead build? Something seems off here! Is this a new allergy? I am not trying to be mean just curious as this seemed to come out of nowhere, just like the move to a new homestead! God Bless you all ❤
It isn't like they can't get milk at a store or from another farm for the kids to drink. But with having to make everything separate to not set his allergy off, I get their decision.
It’s crazy how you’ve been drinking and promoting raw milk for so long and now your allergic! Crazy how sometimes the body just spontaneously says nope not anymore. Are y’all not gonna milk the remaining cows and just have them as pets? Or sell the milk?
That seems very bizarre that you would sell this cow just because you yourself are allergic to dairy. You’ve got an ass load of kids that are milk drinkers it just doesn’t make sense.
@@Homesteadyshow I'd hazard to guess they have not. I am severely allergic to alliums and nobody in my family eats them at home to make sure that I'm not exposed.

Yes!! So many people say carnivore helps their sensitivities.
I can't do much flour it is like eating bricks...

Just watching to make sure the view counts. I'm all the way in Puerto Rico, shipping a cow would be close to impossible 😂

Yes! That’s the next video. Different proteins definitely make a difference.
I would've loved one of these girls. I messaged but never heard anything back. 😔

This breaks my heart that you have to sell the cows.😢
😢 I'm sorry you have to sell your lovely cows! I hope to hear in a future post that you CAN have goat milk. 🤞
Working on that now… in the middle of testing goats milk! Video out soon!
I currently own mini jerseys and would love to have one of yours join my herd.

One thing to pay attention to is the altitide of your buyers. Cows can get a thing called brisket and it can kill them quick

How do I apply for a cow?
Here Elisabeth, www.thisishomesteady.com/cows-for-sale-2/
Is fancy the only dairy cow left?
#askhomesteady how do you butcher your chickens? And also how do make sure your goats DON'T ESCAPE?!
The allergy can be fixed.
I would like to be considered as someone to buy one of your small jerseys. Please
So sorry for the milk challenge. 🙁 (Is goat milk a problem, too?)
Still got one for sale?
But do you Deliver to Alaska ? All joke aside, I know they'll find terrific homes.
Do you feed your jersey's grain, if you do You might try feeding your cows just grass hay and alfalfa hay and than try drinking the milk?maybe its the grain in the milk
During Austin’s milk trial, we fed exclusively grass to take out that variable. He still reacted. So it’s a good time to downsize.
Wish I could ....I have a testimony of how raw cows milk SAVED my stomach. I had problems until I started milking our own cow and my stomach problems disappeared. Sorry about your situation. Will you be doing oat milk?
Next test is not OAT milk... it's gOAT milk!
Can you tolerate A2 milk?

Please please tell me you can tolerate sheep's milk and are gonna be doing sheep dairy videos!! Not enough sheep dairy stuff out there!!
Dude, first duck eggs, now cows milk, what are you going to be able to eat. Stay strong and safe out there.
Yeah... strange... I better start eating more farm fresh kale...
@@Homesteadyshow hahaha, I guess I haven't found a variety of kale that I liked.
